Anyone out there who did tip rolling on Penon Serial? Are the stock tips already good as they are? Some people recommend Spinfit, but then again I saw some complaints about Spinfit.
We each have preferences. I have the azla sedna earfit crystal.

Massively out of topic post. I am sharing some food p**n with you fellow crazy guys/girls.

Cooking is my second hobby. Not a professional cook, just trying to bring premium shrimps and homeland chicken breasts + fresh greens with Masaman & Paneng curries together tonight for dinner with wife, father and my twin girls around the table.

Listening to the Serial posting this. 10 days of intense 🔥-in accomplished. Yep, the bass tightened up, the treble section opened up, etc…, but it’s the whole signature/coherency evolving through the process that strikes me. Music just flows. The Serial? A mandatory purchase for anyone, who claims to be a music lover. These 2x3DD deliver biiig time!

Jukebox? Ok!
Wait… mmmhh, pretty sure I had some coins deep down in my jeans… *searching noise*… ahah, got them 😎, let’s play some tunes (love/hate)-them, but some are full of surprise along the way…

That’s the way it goes…

@F700 good taste and nice looking👍 I have burned in my Serial around 100h and they do tighten up some but not as much as the BA drivers H30. The H30 was borderline to forward in 7k region, and this has smoothened upquite alot after 200h. Still such a different beast than Serial, much more on the analytical side of sound.

Serial is more musical and analog sounding. And the deep sub bass is addictive while not mudding up mids like some boosted mid bass IEMs do. Agree that they are perfect for people just enjoying music👌

They very decent. The Orange stems (not included in this package, I bought separately) I use on the Solaris for a little tamed upper treble and better sub-bass.

https://penonaudio.com/epro-ep00.html - improved Treble, upper mids
Azla Sedna - Extended treble response, the Short version (Blue stem) - a little more treble extension than the grey stem. May be a little hard on some ears though

Spending some more quality time with the Globe. Using my 8 wire gold plated silver cable off my desktop. The Globe has this magical, relaxed quality that is really beautiful. The cable adds a touch of euphonic warmth...really nice. Good for all genres. I'm in happy land right now! :)

If anyone loves their Fan 2 but could use more bass, the Tanchjim bass tips really do help max out those DDs. With them, I no longer hear the Fan 2 as flat or neutral. They deliver a sizeable and most engaging bump to Fan 2’s low end while retaining a good bit of texture and detail. I have about 60 hours on the Fan 2 now, and it only confirms my earlier impressions that these bass tips do for Fan 2 what the Vortex bass mod does for the Vortex.

Get a size smaller if you want a more comfortable fit, but if you want a better seal and greater bass pressure, the tips are soft enough that your usual size (in my case L) is likely to work as well.

Sticking with these for the foreseeable future.

Just got the Truthear x Crinnacle Zero as a gift, what a letdown after I have listened nonstop to Serial last weekend.

Hey that sounds great :) is the Globe tuned in a similar way to the Serial? Which one do you like better?

Penon Fan 2

Adjectives that come to mind after 2 days listening:
  • neutral
  • tame
  • competent
  • plain/flat
  • well-behaved
It's simple as that. They are not a dynamic, exciting set. Everything happens in a narrow ~5 dB band. But don't leave already. They respond very well to PEQ.
That's a big plus of the Fan 2: They're like a neutral testbed from which you can start to fiddle and equalize like a boss.

E.g. this one here as a Hip-Hop profile. No problem, the DDs take it.

Haha yes Serial is leagues above it but they’re worth what they cost for casual listening.
