When I wasn't chasing metal, I was chasing the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, the greatest band you've never heard of. Finding their albums in Ohio in the 70's was a bit of a challenge...

Going to sleep last night, this was going through my head...

Am I the only guy here who finds tons of great bands, only to have the whole thing go down in flames as soon as the vocals kick in?!?
This comes pretty close...Very good music, but the vocals are a bit too Cookie Monster for my preferred tastes, but the rest of it is damn good!

9 out of 10 times. Cookie monster, if done artfully, is fine. But after a while, I get tired of being screamed at!

I like death growls mixed with clean ala Opeth,Unleash the Archers,Falkenbach,etc.... Used for emphasis I think death growls can be quite powerful, but when its non-stop,it gets old real quick.

My son sounds like a dying moose when he tries to sing, but he can do death growls like a pro, much to his mothers chagrin.

Vocals are also an issue for me on other genres, notably symphonic and power metal too.

Im not sure if this is 'metal' by the standards set by @Fastnbulbous and @swspiers ,and im quite the noob when it comes to all things stoner/doom/desert/psych/occult(ill never figure out the differences)...but this is really good!Try and get past the poppy first song and there is some serious retro Thin Lizzy going on here....great sunday AM music!

I bought this one too. Thanks for the recommendation! LOVE the Lizzy vibe :)

Hey, wanted to say thanks for Elder recommendation - it was an immediate purchase off bandcamp.

To return the favor will drop this band, I've been a fan of for quite some time:

You might like this project (that turned into a band after big success, but I only really like the first album)

This is a conceptual album and meant to be listened as a whole, but some tracks are nice on their own.
