I got a pair because of the hype and couldn't stand them. The bass was way to overpowering, the mids were missing and the highs were grainy. They were also congested and the soundstage was hidden underneath the bass. I have heard $20 headphones sound better.

This thread has lead me to believe that audiophile headphones are overrated and that one should stick to the earbuds they give you with your mp3 players (since they have not been stated as "overrated"!).

The current Shure IEM lineup.
Tried the SE310 and found it horribly uninvolving.

Tried the SE530 and found it pretty uninvolving. The SE530 is worth about 150-200$us. Not more than that though.
