Silver SR325is.

Just got them. Sound awesome so far, even with no burn-in and my **** audio chain. It can only get better.

I can't imagine two relatively new users have such early numbers from the original goldies, the silvers must be getting number now.

Oh no, I'm not hounding you for that, I was just clarifying for anyone that might wander in and wonder just how two sub 1000s showed up.

Mine are the 325i and not the 325is as far as I know (it only says 325i on the box). I bought them second hand although the original user never used them (the box was sealed). Could mine be an original 325i with S/N 381 or are the 325is model boxes just stamped 325i. My bowls are silver if that helps and look like pic above

Thanks

If yours looks exactly like Dougboy's above, then you definitely have the 325is. Apparently, Grado hasn't been putting the 's' at the end on their boxes.

oh, and does anyone know how to get rid of water stains on the metal cups? My goldies have had water stains (or something that looks like water stains) on the cups since the day I bought them (new).

Ah cool so I have the newer 325is phones. They are gradually opening up. They have been run in for around 25 hours now. They are still a bit bass light but I think this could be down. To some of the recordings

Well Grado's are known to be a little light on the bass, so don't expect it to start booming. If they're anything like the goldies, with a little more burn in you should notice the bass becoming smoother and punchier though. Actually, it's a little more noticeable with an amp. I think I've grown to like the 325i bass. IMO, Grado's bass is a bit different from any other headphone I've heard.

Hmm. The water stains may be where the cups were being held during the anodize. They might just be there for good. I noticed them on a couple of pairs as well.

*sigh* Oh well. I've tried looking up ways on the internet on how to get rid of water stains, but I don't want to use the wrong thing and end up ruining the finish.

Anybody joining this club, should say whether they have gold or silver ones, and the serial number would be nice too of course.
This will help when peeps say how their cans sound to them.
We gotta get some way to compare the newest ones with the goldies!

And. all my Grados have been happiest with around 100 hours of burn-in, to be sure they have reached their final SQ.

i've finished sanding the plastic rings on mine (manually - with sand paper) - they're a little grey, but i might polish them a little, make them jet black. sorry about the pictures, but mobile phone camera's should have been banned ages ago... maybe then i'd have invested in a better camera.
