Heard the 64A Solo on day 2 of CJ. Was thoroughly impressed with it and the asking price is pretty good. I thought it was tuned just right. Bass was strong as the graph would suggest, but it’s well balanced still. It’s not earth-shattering, but does very well. Honestly, I might like the treble more on it over the Tia implementation on a lot of the rest of the line.
How did the Mids sound? From the graph they take a dip? Looks like it has good bass. How close was the bass to DD bass? Was the sound crystal clear like on Full Tias? How was the stage and imaging? Sorry for all the questions. Just very curious.

I felt it was pretty apparent it was planar bass. Nothing offensive really, digs deep, but might lack that last bit of timbral signature of a DD bass. I think clarity was quite good up top, but I also find the tonality of the tia sometimes isn’t my favorite, so if you are looking for that same tonality or timbre, I think it may be slightly off of that. I remember the soundstage was pretty large, though, it wasn’t absolutely huge. I can’t remember aspects of imaging too well, though.

Thank you for answering my questions. Hard to really get the full picture in a noisy room with a bunch of other people waiting to demo it as well. For this one I will have to contact a dealer and arrange a mail to me demo once it has been out for awhile. Have Trio and Nio so Solo would be something different.

Fourte is getting some much needed TLC at 64 Audio right now. IF they find it really off/broken I will give it another chance before selling if the E-Bay seller pays me for the repair cost if it needs repairs or it will be sent back to them for full refund of sale through E-Bays buyer protection policy. I can deal with loosing $100 for deep cleaning/eval vs $500. I did order some tips that will likely pair with it better than Final Es.

In all fairness to 64 Audio and Fourte owners I jumped the gun on judging the Fourte. I just heard back from them and the high, mid drivers as well as sockets need to be replaced. My experience was NOT representative of what the Fourte should sound like. Disregard what I said in past posts about Fourte. 64 Audio gave me a diagnosis/eval after only getting delivery last Thursday plus with CanJam I didn't expect hear from them for a week. Great job 64 Audio!! @64Audio

I realize that now. I wonder why 64 Audio does not find tips that match the tuning of each of their IEMs? Instead they give same tips for all models and they end up never being used. Those leather pucks are only good for storing cables. I dropped an empty one on the ground and it came open and if I had an IEM in there it could have been damaged. Under $20 Pelican case is so much better and I can't imagine it would cost that much to have a foam insert made to store IEM with cable and desiccant pack placed on top or one of their desiccants placed in top foam piece. For +$1k IEMs it would be nice to see better accessories/tips.
This is what should be included with a kilobuck IEM:

64 Audio's packaging has improved over time, you should see the cable I got with Fourté and Trio; although I also prefer the hard plastic Pelican-like case they included before over the more fancy puck case.

I find the puck to be good for storing cables and that is it. I agree with you 100%. I have the newer stock cable and it does the job but tangles easy but it's not heavy so should help with sockets not wearing out/failing. I bought this to store IEMs. Under $20 and is a Pelican with same standards as 64s. Added the desicant and foam I already had.

My guess next week sometime I will have them back. All drivers being replaced except for DDs so they will be mostly sonically brand new. I will give them another chance when I get them back. They sounded horrible before sending in and know why now. The bass was the only part that sounded like it could be fine. The seller on EBay gave me the money for the repairs.

Those of you who have heard the Solo, what did you think of the bass, particularly when it comes to extension and slam? I love the planar sound, and I'd be keeping my Moon Rover if they had better bass response and extension. Are the Solo at least on par with the Volur, or are they more subdued? Very excited to hear more about the Solo, since I like the 64A house sound so much.

From the graph with the mids being the way they are I would suspect that the bass would stand out in contrast. They almost have a sine wave going. Would be cool if 64 Audio had a drawing to see who would get the first production set with promise that person do a review off people who post regularly on this thread as they are super familiar with the 64 house sound.

Guess that, on occasions, holding judgment in the context of a highly debatable disappointing experience might be a better position.

Yes I did learn a lesson. Later today I will do what I should have done yesterday and delete all posts where I render judgement based on a sonically badly broken IEm as I have the upper most respect for 64 Audio and even given my posts on here have gone out of their way to make the cleaning/repair process as easy as possible including getting to them after being gone for CanJam. If I do not care for the sonically correct IEm at least that is fair to all parties. It's not going to be easy because I am in love with the Trio as it checks all my boxes so well.

Edit: Removed all posts of mine that gave my impressions of badly broken IEMs, 3 out of 4 drivers is REALY bad to be broken. Let me know if I missed any.

I would like to see a reviewer actually live their life with the Solo. Call it life with Solo or Solo life. Use at home on a good DAP in the silence of their home. Connect to a BT solution like TW2 and use with Aptx with phone and take to grocery store, walks, exercise, and even beach - do this ALL the time with my Nios now. I live a block from the beach and its a dog beach. Love dogs but not the barking and of course the sound of those cheap BT speakers blaring too. Seems there are questions if Solo can be used in less than ideal locations this would answer those questions. @64Audio you can test what is heard from outside at normal listening volume using a mic put in YouTube or in my case record with my cell phone with it right by one of the IEMs. Yes the Solo price is not cheap but its not Fourte priced so it is reasonable that one would use for everything in their life including BT and outdoor use. If you are looking for a volunteer my hand is raised :gs1000smile:
