I am thinking about buying an U4s. My first high(er) priced iem. Sennheiser ie600 and Dunu SA6 MKII are still on the list. Any recommendations?

U4s are an IEM that holds value well but they do not cost much less than a good state preowned U12t or Trio on here.
I would personally save some cash and go for an end-game IEM straight away.

ie600 and Dunu SA6 MKII have different sounds, hugely different fit/size.
Tried MKII too, really good IEMs but chunky to wear for long.
I have the ie600, would highly recommended those too.

I definitely prefer U4s over SA6. U4s is phenomenal.

Will be more than happy to see my u12t's back but $457 all in to reglue faceplates.

And to make it worse 64 Audio had a big problem with their faceplates coming off of the U12t's. "Am I right or Am I right"

Why not just take them to a local jeweler with good reviews? Doesn't seem like something you need to send them back for all that money for. The faceplate thing.

That's a great idea. Someone said they took the back off of their Sp3000. Said it's held on with the same glue they use to put the back on cell phones which don't have any screws either. They heat just the edge of them with a heat gun for a second and then use a suction cup puller to just pop the back right off. He replaced his own battery in his dap that way

Same idea and glue,I would think. You just need a small suction cup puller for the iem. I'd call 64audio and ask how they do it, Ask what glue they use then find a good jeweler.

Just got my u12s back
Looks like it was more than just a faceplate problem after all so happy i did send them.
My invoice says rebuild right side and replaced one bad driver, new mesh screens on both and re-attached faceplates
so no more complaints from me, things that would have been missed just by re-attaching the faceplates

this is something to consider when sending your IEMs in for service. If you're sending them in for a warranty repair or if you pay the service fee (depending on the model/tier you're in) your IEM is fully serviced. This starts with a cleaning, testing, then followed by repairs of any additional issues we find.

For simple things like faceplate chip coming off or mesh screen replacement you can always send them in for a lower cost "Deep Cleaning" service. Got my A12T's and man...those things are TIGHT in my ears. The left ear is tight enough to the point where it's painful putting it in and taking it out.

Is that "normal" as you get used to the customs? This my first pair of 64's and first pair of customs made of the hard acrylic. All the other customs I have are made of a softer (e.g. silicone type) material.

We'd recommend using them for at least a couple of weeks to see if it just needs some time getting used to. You have 30 days to let us know if there's a fit issue so take a bit of time first, then let us know if it's still uncomfortable after a little use.

Could someone help me out with a curious question.?

I read so many mixed comments about the u12t, so get confused what to believe?

Is the u12t really that good or really that bad? I read about too much treble, recessed voice.

I have some interest in them, listen mainly jazz, blues and just a little pop.

do they work with that kind of music?
