Hey guys! I've got a bit of a problem, actually have had for some time. My 64 premium SPC cable is switching from left to right ear when it bumps something or wiggles near the right angle connector. What exactly would be involved with fixing it? Is it something I could do with hand tools?

It is probably covered by their warranty, no? I'd just call them and have them send you a new one or whatever their protocol is.

Sounds like a loose wire inside the connector. If you include a soldering iron with "simple handtools" then yes, this is fixable. Assuming the cable was built in a way that can be easily disassembled.

Other than that. I'd buy a new cable.

Hi all, this is my first post here. VERY long time lurker. :)

I've just bought some U18s and I'm after some double flange tips. These are now discontinued:

https://www.64audio.com/product/Dual-Flange-Ear-Tips

And 64 Audio have confirmed this and redirected me to this forum.

Does anybody know where to buy a similar pair of dual flange tips that will fit the wider bore of the U18t’s please?

Thanks.

2 pins get loose very quickly when you tend to change cables often. Early Shure models may have given mmcx a bad rep, but the mmcx connectors from campfire are rock solid. Another reason why I have yet to try 64 audio or empire ears

Hey there! Welcome to Head-Fi. I've never used double flanges with any success, but I think RHA Audio sells them in a wide bore, and I know you can get them through Hifiman's website. Look for the tips for the RE400, which I know use the same size as the 64's. Hope this helps.

Avoiding 2-pin means you avoid all the best IEMs the industry has to offer. It's THE STANDARD. Also, it works REALLY well.

That sucks man, I can't imagine not hearing the offerings from the best companies. The Zeus XIV has the best vocals I've ever heard regardless of can or IEM and a spectacular stage. The A18t is the best all around-er with exceptional qualities across the board; stage, impactful sub bass, elite resolution, great layering and separation, special highs and visceral lower mids plus the added bonus of a significant signature modification via M15/M20. If my house was on fire and my family was safe outside and I could run back in safely one time I would grab my A18t's, Chord Hugo2, laptop(music collection) and guns. lol My Zeus XR's are for sale in the for sale section that's why I wouldn't grab them because I anticipate them selling soon.

I want to know if that's normal. I uploaded the video showing the black ink on my finger after touching the jack from the cable.
Should I contact @64Audio ?

Hey Swesko, thats very odd and definitely covered under the cables warranty. Please contact our support staff and we'll get a replacement out to you ASAP. We also need your old cable back to inspect it and find out whats happening and investigate further.

Thank you!
