I'm in the same boat except with the U4S - and I'm NOT getting an all BA IEM. It just doesn't compare to DD bass. But I would like some more detail/layered/separation than the U4s. I almost got the Nio's, but after reading reviews and talking to a few that had it, the NIO has a lot of mid-drivers, but the treble sounded too soft for me based on everything I read and discussed. I got the U4S because of the better treble detail, and I don't want less than the U4S give, so the Nio would not have worked. But I know I don't want BA bass. I want DD bass.

The Trios sound intriguing but two things - the price point. I don't want to pay over 2K, and no Apex tuning with that model. At this point if I am buying a high end IEM from 64 Audio, I am strongly leaning to one with Apex tuning.

Holding out hope that there will be a version of A12t or U12t with DD for bass in the future.

My left U4S bud Just stopped working. Try them with both cable and iFi go pods.

Going to have to do an RMA it's only been a few months but they've been my primary listening device. That's going to make me sad.

Is Tia Trio good/recommended for rock/metal ?
If not, what 64Audio IEM would suit those genres better ?

For those genres I would say Trio is great - it's a bit more engaging and has more bite than other 64A models + that DD goodness.

The Fourte is also great for musical engagement and large stage (focus is on instruments more than voices, more colored) but it is expensive. U4S is great at anything you throw at it (more polite and neutral than Trio) & Nio (smoothest/ bassiest) can be nice if you are sensitive to harshness.

U4S + M20 is pretty crazy for the price and probably my choice overall personally for rock/ metal.

hey folks

anyone knows where to get those small desiccant pods that come with the 64 audios? I can't find anything that small on line. I do know that 64 sells them but I am based in Europe/uk so paying 3 dollars for the pods and 50 for shipping seems a bit silly

I would google hearing aid desiccant

there are many. was hoping someone knew which one fits the cut out in the original case

Amazon should be able to sort you out, bruh.

I don't have a link to a specific product, but I can tell you that the size of the desiccant that we ship with is about 25mm diameter by 11mm tall. Anything that size should fit in the cutout in your IEM case

you are da best

Normal hearing aid desiccants / dehumidifers / pucks will not fit as they are typically 3cm diameter (1.1811 inches). Commonly marketed as 3 gram individual sizing (or bigger)

Try to find the 2 gram individual sizing: 2.48cm (0.977 inches).

P.S. I will accept the m12 module as my finder's fee

I know that's a bit of an odd question, but for a $2k IEM I think it's a valid one: would you say that the Trio has more resolution than a Arya SE ?
I'm looking for a IEM that sounds as good as my Arya

How much more detail does the U12T have versus the U4S? Is it worth putting out $11-1300 more if I already have the U4S?

I have both U12t and U4s and I think it's very much worth the extra money for the extra detail and better soundstage. I use both on a daily basis; the U4s for when I'm out and about or in noisier environments where the extra detail would probably not be heard anyway, or for certain genres that benefit from the DD bass... but when I want to sit down and properly immerse myself in the music, I always go for the U12t... it's amazing.

I'm sure others here can give you a more detailed analysis of the differences between the two.

extra quality detail, sub-par bass compared to a good DD.
