Just wanted to give a shout out to Jared and the repair services team at 64 audio. I broke one of the 2-pin connectors and had to send in my iem+cable. The cable had slight oxidation on it when I sent it and so I was debating whether I should buy a pair of new cables. When I opened the box yesterday, I realized they sent in new (or like-new, can't tell) cables. This is going above and beyond the scope of the original service request, and really looking at the repair from the customer's point of view. If there is a fanboy/loyalist list to 64audio, I have just added myself to it. Amazing, top service. Honestly, I am impressed. Thank you 64audio repair/customer services team. You are the best!

Picked up a Fourte Noir and (also today) a Cayn N7, just trying them out. The thin bore of the Noir is unusual to me, not matter what tip I try there is almost no resistance when I remove the IEM and I wonder if its giving me a proper seal. In terms of what I have tried so far, the larger Final Type Es feel like they give me the best seal. I have become used to wider bore IEMs of late (EVO, Trifecta, Mentor) and at the moment I cant decide if its normal or I am yet to find the right tip.

Give SpinFit CP145, CP100 or W1 a try. They all grip onto the Noir stem well.

I believe this set I have originally belonged to you :)

I have partnered the Noirs with a DoctorJuggles cable, I think they look great personally.

Re the tips, sorry I wasn't clear, I meant that there isn't any grip/resistance when I remove from my ear which in the past means the seal isn't too good. The wide bore IEMs are harder to get in and when removed I can feel a small amount of resistance that isnt there with these. I will work through the tips I have I think its just a case of getting used to it, I have only listened to them for an hour or so so far.

Seems like the u4s and probably other 64 Audio iems have some build in an advance crossover system :). I can hear many layers of the sound from the sources that are rather flat sounding. There are moments when my jaw drops, the separation is mind blowing. Its like im listening from a 3000 bucks dap.
These iems are really great!

Fourte Blanc sesh thourgh TT2. So good! The TT2 really drives the Blanc to its full potential. I have always wondered if the treble of the Blanc is rolled off or if it just has a really black background. Driving the Blanc through the TT2 confirms for me that it just has a black background that allows the upper frequencies to shine through. Love it!

When I drove the Blanc with the Niimbus US4 I was blown away it was one of the best impression with IEMs I ever had!
So yes driven by a big amp can make the Blanc really shines!

Couldn’t agree more. Blanc and TT2 has great synergy. My Utopia has been rarely used since the arrival of the Blanc.

I agree 100%. The U4s are incredible! I expected these to have a great bass response, but I think the separation and the detail retrieval is just as impressive. I’ve been asking myself over and over again, where do I go from here with IEMs?

At some point in the near future I will probably get a set of A12t only because for me nothing beats the comfort of CIEMs. Sonically I’m not sure if the A12t are going to be exponentially better to my ears compared to the U4s, it will just be different.

I still cant get a satisfying fit with my Fourte Noirs for some reason so have listed them for sale (or trade) if anyone is interested.

I cant deny they are lovely IEMs, but I will look at moving to the XE6 or similar for my next purchase.

64 Audio U4s - 64 Bits of BASS!

A very enjoyable review, with a very accurate descriptions, good job!

When it comes to the comparison of the u4s vs u12t, i have slightly different thoughts tho.

Sure, from purely technical perspective, the u12t wins but it somehow loses also. The bass is better on the u4s- it hits deeper and is more organic and more natural in timbre. Also the musicality and enjoyment are better on u4s, at least for me. I dont remember feeling anything connected to the music while listening the u12t. I was just amazed by their technicalities but the emotional factor was almost non existant. The music played and i was doing some other stuff. The u12t seem more like a music producer tool than something which really evokes feelings, but this is personal.
I also dont remember the u12t to be so much more spacious than the u4s. The separation was definitely more pinpoint but the u4s, having bassier sound reproduce the space in a more ambient and euphonic manner, a club-like presentation.
Another thing where the u4s wins for me is the overall power behind the notes. The u12t were more precise but also thinner and didnt push as much air to my ears.
I also found the u12t trebles to be too spicy for me, especially when listening hi hats on lets say Genesis. Also some "t" and "s" were bit piercing to my ears which isnt the case with the u4s.
They have a very similar tuning but i like the trebles on the u4s bit more.

Just compared the u4s with the Monarch 2 again and for me (from memory) the u4s sound very similar to the u12t (which i compared extensively to the Monarch 2) but denser, thicker, with less pronounced and less clinical separation. Its like pouring some extra sauce on the u12t but the soundstage width and depth are quite similar. Just more punch and body to the sound.
The DD bass definitely influences the mids which arent as clean and clear as on the u12t but these things add an extra punch and body to the sound.
Hard to say but to me, the u4s sound like less microdetailed and clinical u12t, with added DD bass. Thats all. They dont differ as much, its like the u4s are a more fun and less reference sounding u12t.

I keep seeing the us4 being compared to the u12t. I'm more interested in hearing how it compares with the trio (my all-time favorite IEM). Has this been discussed? I own a u12t, nio, duo, fourte, trio. Second to the trio, I would say I enjoy the duo most. Any opinions as to whether the u4s brings anything new to the table relative to this collection, or can I safely pass on it as being somewhat redundant?
