Nice looking pic! That open back reminds me more of the DT 1990 Pro which is semi open. That would work for me as I'd only really be using them around the house and not taking them out on the go. My airpod pros are my out and about IEMs.

I don’t think it’ll come close to pleasing your multi-driver preferences though, It “only” has 2 drivers after all.

It may be to some people (me included 😂)
But so far with 64’s “less is more” lineup (with the exception of the Trio) that I’ve heard, I’ve pretty much liked their sound. So I’m trusting them on this one.
Not so much a rub on the specs so much as the utter mess their marketing has been. My preference for 10+ driver setups doesnt mean its not pleasing. I just prefer them less.

"Trusting" a manufacturer has gotten me into losses before, even with tangible specs. But this HF and rationale has no room here.

As for Trio and "hot treble": perhaps your opinion will change when your tiger ears have some gray fur on them. I think the Trio treble is great, but I don't have the ears of a 20-year-old anymore, either. I may not be able to hear the frequencies which bother the "hot Trio treble" crowd.
I find that for me the treble on the Trio is dependent on what tips I use. If I use Spinfits or stock silicone tips then the treble is too hot for me. If I use foams though then I find the treble is calmed down sufficiently enough for me to enjoy the sound.

"Duo feels light, leaving your ears feeling open and relaxed even for long listening periods. While effortlessly producing deep and rich low frequencies with plenty of sub bass, the vast open air sensation supports an unobstructed soundstage with impactful center imaging." - 64 Audio

Duo is looking quite stunning… 👀
Maybe it's just me but that black perforated metal looks really cheap.

How do you define “cheap” in this case?

Maybe is just needed by design. (Not denying and not agreeing :) )

It’s a metal grill, less than 1 inch. Maybe they decided to let function dictate form. Not really sure what you’re expecting. This?

Tips matter. Spin Fit dual flange are the only tips which consistently fit my ears. Using anything else results in a poor seal for me and poor bass volume and presence. Even with silicone tips, I really like Trio treble.

Ok, you now have my attention 64 Audio!
I must say they lost me for a while there with their mindless 'marketing' efforts, but the latest pic and description has pulled me back in. Not saying I'll be getting one, but at least I'm curious again. I quite like the understated design, and ironically the lack of removable Apex too.

I’m admittedly a big 64 Audio fan. Have been for a while, have been since my first foray into “high end” IEMs with the U12t and then several models since. Been itching for something cool and worthwhile to come out from them; hope this scratches that itch.

Spill the beans @twister6 🙃

Yep, and i can see it being filled with dirt and debris in no time :)
I hope it's just for the looks, and doesn't affect the function in any way.
But don’t we have open back headphones for like 50 years or so now?

Also Audeze iSine series for a some years?
