Apparently buying from Jpn via tenso isn't cheaper by much lol
 
But now confused in which to buy between S400 and S500.
Which do you think will compliment my CKN70 better?

S400 is more neutral and musical - fits for wide range of music, especially vocals.
S500 is better for EDM and bass-heavy.
 
I'd go with S400 (as I already did), since I can always turn on bass boost on my Sansa Clip+ or Fiio E17 anyway.

Thats pretty much how I feel about Beats, honestly a pair of Koss KSC75's would sound better, you are paying for fashion, I sure hope the JVC's sound better since I just ordered them .

Dudes if anybody wants I am selling my modded s400 here

The sonic signature is now more closer to an akg k67 ,
than either the s500 or s400, because of the change in flatter mids and more even sound.
The treble is more clear but not as prominent as the k67.
The s500 has a slightly more v shape and the s400 is more mid centered.

Would love to own a Maxx mod, but i already have 2 sets of these. haha
