Is there a trick to being able to use 128 gb sd cards. I have PNY u1 card, I tried both fat32 and exfat formatted but both of them didn't work on firmware 2.42.

Does any one know a link to a AK100 II thread? I've searched but cannot find one specific to it.

I would like to maximize the amount of music I can take on the go with the AK100 II. Could somebody let me know the largest micro SD card that would work in it, and would I format to fat 32 ?

TIA

Does it make sense to buy a mint astell & kern 100 MK1 in 2020? The price is 130 euro....
Is it better than LG V30?

I have a grado rs80e

I just had a dap fiio X1 years ago, and I was happy with it.

For nostalgia and for looks yet? I still find it one of the best looking DAPs even till now.
The Mk1 version output impedance might put you off if you use BA drivers though.

Picked up a mint AK100 for £115, ive had one before but couldnt resist the price, it is a beautiful jewel of a dap and is a wonderful partner for my cypher labs algorhythm picollo amp,ive also been messing about and utilising the optical input(not many daps have this) and can play qobuz and tidal.20200517_135234.jpg20200517_143203.jpg

Hi Astell&Kern fans,

Recently, I found and purchased four Astell&Kern early products:

AK100MKI/MKI, AK120 Black and AK120 Tiitan. ALL NEW in 2020!

Thanks Astell&Kern US team for helping me grab the last available leather cases, and my friends who generously provided me with the original standing dock, MQS album, and more. They are all in perfect conditions.

They are incredibly small and just of perfect size for me to operate comfortably using one single hand without worrying about dropping on the floor. Very good sound tune with warmness that is presented differently compared to their big brothers: SP1000SS and SP2000SS. They may not have that powerful performance in every aspect (OS/2.5mm balanced output/connectivity/CPU/Internal storage), but hey they still sound quite good. My paring: Vision Ears Erlkonig and Effect Audio Leonidas II Octa.

I especially love their volume knobs, brushed aluminum body and that delicate but retro slot doors for SD cards. Amazing build quality!

Let's see my collection. Let me know if you have any question!

- Jerry

I know this thread has been down for quite a while, but I was hoping someone might be able to help me. I just picked up a used AK100. I am unable to find iriver plus 4. So I am hoping someone can tell me another way to update the firmware. The AK100 is currently using firmware 1.3.

Please share other ways of updating it or how I could get plus 4. I tried a couple I found on internet but they were dudes.

You shouldn't need additional application to run firmware updates on AK's players.
After you downloaded the new firmware, connect your player to the computer. The player will be recognised as a mass storage device.
Dump the hex file from the firmware download to the root of the internal storage.
