Why feed the monster? Buy direct from Sennheiser. They will ship as quickly as the product is in stock and you have the 60-day return guarantee. It takes stepping outside of one's Amazon return comfort zone, but ideologically... why give the middleman a cut. The price in Europe is the same Sennheiser = amazon.de.
My audio setup from 8 years ago (HD 598 + Fiio E10K) served me well so far.
With my HD 598 needing ear pads replacement (which is never in stock in Canadian Sennheiser website lol), I have decided to upgrade.
After quite a bit of research, I was settled on getting following
HD 58x - all rounder
AKG 361 - closed back
HE-400i 2020 - try planer at cheap price, looks to have better headband than 4XX
TYGR 300R - actually would prefer this over HE-400i 2020 and use it for gaming but can't get it easily in Canada
Liquid Spark - cheaper in Canada than JS Atom / Shiit Heresy
Topping D10S - only if I am not satisfied with E10K just as DAC or I can find a great deal
And was waiting for Black Friday for a good deal.
However, with this release, maybe I will change my plan and get 560s instead of 58x. At $300 CAD, probably will be more expansive than 58X during Black Friday/Cyber Monday but,
1. Don't have to worry about having to ship things back to U.S. for warranty
2. I won't necessary need to upgrade Amp right away since both AKG 361 and HD 560s should be fine with E10K
I wonder if HD 560s will soon be available on Amazon.ca instead of just Sennheiser Canada.
belive headphone bar will be carrying em
So it's a brighter 58X?DIY-AH's review is up for anyone interested.

That's highly unlikely. The HD 560S now supersedes all of the previous 500-series models. Although sometime down the road, they may introduce a closed-back version of them (like the HD 569).I'm so tempted to order one but who knows if they'll release an even higher end 5XX model.
jappleack strikes again. That would be my worry as well but neither of the initial reviews so far mention it as something too problematic. Graphs are one thing but the actual sound does not always correlate perfectly. Either way, I am eager to see more reviews roll in. Contemplating pulling the trigger myself. I'd love to compare against the Verum One. They should be two very different beasts.
That's the little push I need. Also are the 560s made in Ireland/Romania like the 6XX line? That's highly unlikely. The HD 560S now supersedes all of the previous 500-series models. Although sometime down the road, they may introduce a closed-back version of them (like the HD 569).
