Where's all the love for these gone? We're down to about 1 post a week now...

I've got the ES700's with a Forza AudioWorks re-cable & ESW9 lambskin pads and friggin' love 'em!

The only other pair I have in my sights right now are some V-moda M100's, but then all I listen too is EDM etc.

So who still has/uses them regularily and who side-graded/upgraded and if so what to? Results?

I upgraded to ESW9A, it's much better. No point buying ES700  when ESW9A was recently on sale for ~120$

Does the lambskin alleviate the problem with wearing these for 1 hr+? I love the sound of these headphones, but on longer commutes/ sessions, they really start to hurt my ears. This is with the ws55 pads btw,

Use mine everyday and love them! Been thinking about pulling the trigger and some woodie ATH's to see if I can appreciate them as much/more! Really love the 700's, even compared to KEF M500, ONkyo ES-FC300, Momentums etc etc etc.

I can only say I wear mine for up to 6-7 hours no probs.

I've noticed with on-air headphones it really depends how you sit them on your ear whether it will hurt or not. Some nights they will start hitting my ears after 15 minutes! And other times I can wear them for hours! I'm using the stock pads by the way. I don't like how the WS55 pads affect the sound.

Is there a headphone you guys would consider as a full-sized upgrade of the ES700? I love the ES7 and ES700 but I just wish they had the sound of a full-sized headphone.

Go for ATH-ESW9A, it's so much better.

But isn't the ESW9A smoother? I'm not sure how that would be for rock music.

I don't know if I would describe it as smoother, it's just better.
For rock, consider HD650 - http://www.head-fi.org/t/634201/battle-of-the-flagships-58-headphones-compared-update-audeze-lcd-2-revision-2-6-4-13#user_HD650

EXCELS WITH MOST GENRES: The HD650 sounds fantastic with rock music. Its warmish tone makes bright recordings more livable. One of my best friends actually refers to the HD650 as "the rock headphones." :) After years of using the HD650, I've concluded that it is not quite airy enough to excel with classical music. Other than this, I believe it can satisfy pretty much any musical appetite.

I've actually never heard HD650 described as rock headphones, ever. I always read that they have a veiled sound, unless you pair them with the right amp/dac. Other Senheisser headphones I've had sound pretty polite for rock music.
