The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

I just want to way I read your comparison last night and it helped me pull the trigger on the A2C today. It was extremely well written out and helpful. Since I'll only really listen to rock, indie, metal and some pop the A2C seemed like they would be a better fit for me. I'm excited to see how it handles gaming.

I am so glad you found it helpful! That was the first time I wrote out a comparison and really spent some time going back and forth between both of them. I think you will be happy based on your genres of music you listen to. I haven’t tried them with gaming as I haven’t gamed in years. Definitely give them some listening time and burn in time with the A2C when you first get them. Look forward to your thoughts!

Maybe this question has been asked before, if so my apologies.

Are you supposed to store the AFC 2 / AFO 2 with the square foam between both drivers? Or is it fine to store the headphones with the pads resting on each other?

Not required but it will prolong pad life.

Hi @mrspeakers

With all the work from home situation, I decide to get the ModMic Wireless for conference calls. Anyhow, do you think the magnetic clasp system will have an interference to the planar driver?

It should be just fine. In fact, not only do we use these but we've just launched a bundle with the ModMic Uni, a Schitt Hel and an original AEON Flow Open, it's online for our Club DCAudio members and will be public on Friday.

The A2 series has a stell plate on the outside of the motor that will really minimize any interaction with the magnets. The original AEON magnets are quite far away as they're on the ear-side of the headphone.

So while a little flux aberration is possible there was no measurable change in performance on either model.

Hello, I just ordered the AF2C on amazon, had a lot of rewards to use. Back then I always wanted your maddogs alpha dog. The portability is what sold me though. I’m planning to use it with my old jds c5d

I don't think you need the foam foam in between. I think that was just so that things don't move around during shipping.

It's not required but its generally a good idea. All foam compresses over time and relieving the pressure will extend the foam life. I use mine...

I've had my AFC2 now for about a week. I've been searching for a more "mature" upgrade from my TH-x00 and I feel like I finally found it. I LOVE these headphones. I can highly recommend to anyone. The are so comfortable. I don't think my Dragonfly Cobolt if powerful enough for them. It keeps doing a reboot cycle when volume goes past 50% on my iphone. Might be time to invest in the Chord Mojo.

What amp is everyone using? I'm using a MCTH right now but I'm toying around with the idea of maybe getting as Schitt Asgard 3 or Lyr 3.

I'm using an xDuoo XD05 with my A2Cs and I love it. Half the price of a Mojo.
It's fantastic in my opinion
