The quality high-res source files of Qobuz compared to 320 kbps Spotify have improved my listening enjoyment more than any upgrade in source gear.

Welcoming Noire to my collection!

I had to say that I tried the A2C like 2 years ago and left unimpressed. I think it's probably because the demo used the filter that added too much damping and I was driving with less than optimal amp.

I gave the A2C Noire another chance 2 weeks ago and I'm super impressed this time around! I have always been looking for a closed back upgrade from my old and trusted AFC, didn't knew the answer is basically in front of me all these time (and not much more expensive either).

This improved so much from the previous AFC!

Now I'm intrigued by how good the Stealth is, too bad no store carry the demo here. But I'm happy with the Noire for now...

How would you compare AO to Ether?
I had Ether 1 and it was too lean for my taste. Is Ether 2 better?

I never owned Ether 1, but I have heard it in a couple of occasions. They are definitely different sounds from what I remembered, Ether 2 is much thicker and full bodied.

I also heard A2O a couple of days ago, for me, it's quite similar in sound signature to Ether 2, but Ether 2 is just better.

Based on your signature, how do the AO1 compare to the AO2? (and do you have the AO1 RT or OG)

A02 has deeper and more bass than A01. It is darker however it has a slightly larger soundstage (so I don't know how they achieved that. Usually you need treble to make soundstage).
I find AO2 a little lacking in treble. If it had a touch more it would be perfect. I don't use filters.

At first I thought the A02 was a bust. I'm coming around to accepting them.
If I was listening to super mellow music I think AO1 is best. Everything else it would be AO2.

I have the AC1, ACN, and AO1 and I'm considering the AO2 even thought I prefer the AC models. I still love the AC1, but I'd like to try that planar HD600 experience. I'm very turned off by the red accent, maybe I'll look into painting it.

The red is nicer in real life viewing.

I like the AO2 and in reality it will be my primary HP the next few years.

I purchased a HD6XX (HD650) to see what the fuss was about. I gave them to the kids. In my opinion they are just old hack tech. Aeon is way better.

Although we're streaming service agnostics, that's the feedback we've been getting as well. Many folks appreciate Qobuz for sound quality indeed
