sorry for ebay link i dont want to copy photos from auction.

Best thing is that they also sounds nice, pioneer SE-50 sounds very crappy... SS-50 are probably best 8ohm 2way headphones ever made :). Their sound is very modern, when you start listening old headphones, you know that they are old becouse of thier specific sound... crapy bass, highs and mass of midrage, ss-50 are diferent, thier highs sounds fantastic, they have huge soundstage and very nice bas... I use Zero DAC and Yamaha CR-620 to drive them.

on ebay people want funny money for them, very nice position for everybody

I have started to collect Japanese headphones, just for the style. My favourites so far are the Sony DR 4C

Those pads don't look terribly comfortable though...

Are those even headphones? Ryobi makes power tools. First thing I thought of was hearing protection, not headphones.

I received my ESW10 recently and I disagree with comments about their looks.

Yes, they're quite beautiful, or at least more so than most other headphones, but things are far from perfect.

The plastic parts look cheap, awfully cheap. The leather pads aren't carefully sewed. The cable is rubbish and looks rubbish. And last but bot least, I think it's useless to spend more than three months manufacturing lacquered wooden cups if you cannot package the headphones correctly so as to avoid scratches. Mine came out of the box with several scratched areas just because the plastic cover of the box rubbed against the cups. Well done Audio Technica.

Otherwise, they do seem to be quite good sounding (too early to tell), but it's going to take a lot more to make me really impressed about a pair of headphones' beauty.

BTW, it seems to be an Audio Technica curse : the L3000 is made of beautiful leather and yet the swivel joints are made of some sort of disgusting plastic. I'm afraid the W1000x isn't much different : beautiful cups, bad plastics :).
