  Was wondering,why most of you guys like to use sansa clip as media player to drive good headphones? Smartphone can do just as well right? 

  Most people like a dedicated audio player. Using phones might drain the battery.
There are people who use their phones too, you just don't see them much.

my clip sounds better, I can change the songs easier, lasts longer, and is much more portable. I do use my phone all the time in school though for internet radio and slacker which I use much more than my downloaded music.

Better if you buy them straight from Japan. Spend a little for the shipping cost but gives you a lot of peace of mind. It's dirt cheap anyway.

They've been my daily playing headphones since the day I got them so I dont know how many thousand hours they've been on. They sound pretty open now, but that might just be my mind playing tricks on me. I need a new one to compare with.

What does he want in his headphones? And I'll take his broken pair if he doesn't mind, if oI can't fix them I'll still have a back up driver.

I'll see if he wants to keep them or not. Basically, I'd say similar to the S500 signature with an emphasis on bass, but not quite basshead level. Have any other contenders in the 40-50 price range topped the S500s?
