Hi all i listen to slot of hardrock and metal. Do these iems fit me? Thanks alot!!!
Example of bands i listen to:guns n roses, ac dc, nirvana, metallica
Cheers

They are absolutely fantastic with metal! I listen to a lot of progressuve and death metal and the bass can still keep up. The guitars have the perfect amount of bite as well! I have the FX850.

I have had the fx850 for some time and i really love everything of it besides the isolation...its really not that big of a deal but I wanna buy something...... What do you guys think are possible upgrades of the 850? either with better sq or have similar/better sq with better isolation? I am not really interested in the 1100, kinda want to try another brand.

Joey just said on the previous page that he prefers the Z5 over the 1100. Reception of the 1100 has been a little cold. A member over at the thread likes them, though. I suspect they'll need lots of burn-in, and pairing with JVC's amp to really shine, like the Z5 needs the PHA-3 and a balanced cable.

Your wallet is going to hate you either way.

Definitely not - the 850 is better in every way IMO.
I suspect that the 1100 is simply a kind of price point product,
to drive more people to buy the 850 750 etcetera

You suspect? People have heard the 1100, but you aren't wrong in that the 850 is a better value. The 1100 offers some technical superiority (not much) and a slightly different sound signature. The 850 is the better buy at its price.

Actually, in my opinon, regardless of price, the 850 is better.  I`ve demo`d the 1100 extensively - I was set on buying it because I love the 850 and because they can be had in Japan for quite a bit less than list price.  But the more I listened to the 1100, the more I became convinced the 1100 was released to make the others in the series seem more affordable.  It`s a classic  marketing strategy.

When I tried to order from Amazon jp it wouldn't let me ship to the UK? I would have had to use a transfer company and send it to them for them to send it to me? Not to mention the tax I'd have to pay on top of that...

Yeah you have to use Tenso, which costs about $15-20 per package to your door, so that's like 10-15 pounds or something. But you probably won't have to pay tax, as Tenso allows you to choose the price they will mark the package as before they ship it to you.

Just ordered them from here as they're at a decent price and i have eBay buyer protection (important to me). They look legit from a reputable ebayer?

I would find it hard to believe that someone would go to the effort to make a fake wooden earphone as it would be almost impossible to replicate such a quality item? will keep you updated when they arrive :)

I am coming from a pair of atomic floyd super darts so the comparison will be interesting... :D

JP amazon was selling 850 at 25k yen a few days ago but now it's back to 30k. should've bought it.

I bought it at 25k :)

The FX850 is technically stupidly good and is improving a huge amount with burn in as well. The difference between it and other totl universal IEMs remind me of the feeling I got when I first tried totl hps compared to midfi hps like HD650 and HE400. I can definitely see why some people on various sites said that they believe the FX850 is the most technically gifted dynamic IEM.

You would be amazed at the lengths forgers go to create the high-quality fakes.    For example :

I guess the FX-1100 marketing ploy is working !

If you want the 850, just go in to E-earphone.  Their site is saying 26k, but in the shop they usually they have the little paper price tags wtih 24k.

You know you can use any Japanese online store with Tenso, doesn't have to be Amazon, although Amazon is the easiest to use. But there are several places selling the FX850 for 24.7K. Although Yodobashi is the easiest to use besides Amazon, and they have the FX850 for 26.6K

Anyway, my massive order is en route from Tenso atm. Got the FX1100, CKR9LTD, CKR10, and FX750, FX650, weird that I didn't get the FX850 though right? Figured I will mod the FX1100 and be done with it, I might get the FX850 later just for the hell of it though.
