Good man. Ensure you also pick up the MELZ 1578 and Elrogs for full-scale madness.
Elrogs are proving hard to source in the UK. Looking forward to it! Got a deal that I couldn't let go by.

Wow. Perhaps the TM run put them behind on production across the board.
I'm eyeing up WE 300b instead, as there's at least a reliable chain there and they have good warranty.

Stop-gaps are inevitable. As is the Elrog difference.

Enjoy the journey.

Watched Dune 1 again last night (10th+ time) on my 78 inch LG OLED, my main system and the Abyss TC, in preparation for seeing Dune 2 today. The TC helped make that viewing experience incredible, all the power of that amazing score blasted into my brain with extreme detail and power, plus the inky blacks of the OLED big screen - I feel very fortunate to have an experience in my loungeroom that rivals the cinema. Can't wait to see part 2 today!!!

Fear is the mind killer.

Cable question:

I can't afford the Superconductor, even at its used pricing. The stock cable sounds great, but is stiff and unwieldily. Curious if you guys have found an aftermarket cable that performs as well as the stock cable?

So tubes :) WE are great, just need some great sounding technical drivers to pair with them. Military NOS should do the trick.

the melz are so expensive from what I have seen and hard to find...do you have a reasonable source?

don69 and hanoitubes were major sources everyone used. It's been quite a while since I've last checked.

Received some new O-rings tonight. I'm digging some of the thinner ones that are a bit more flexible. Had an issue with the frame closing/moving a lot and that seems to have fixed the issue.

My 1266 are about a month in and I've finally got the fit properly dialled. So I naturally wanted to go back through meaningful songs to me to experience them anew.

This song for me has always meant a lot, and I've listened to it a hundred times at least. When I was nine my mum was diagnosed with cancer. The night my dad sat me down to tell me she wasn't going to make it, the first song I listened to when I got back to my room was this one.

I had come to the album in a roundabout way, discovering Iron Maiden from an appearance on Top of the Pops of all things (weird UK thing, now mostly remembered for having notorious paedophile Jimmy Savile as its host for decades) which led to cassettes from them and then Metallica. Then one day I heard a clip of TMWSTW from the Unplugged album. This was long after Kurt had died. I vaguely remembered it on the news at the time was much too young to understand who he was.

I bought the Unplugged record on the strength of this one song, and was mesmerised. Nevermind followed of course.

The point is...this song didn't necessarily sound different or anything to me there just listening to it again on the 1266. But for the first time in my life, I really felt like there finally nothing between me and the music. It was just 'there'. I know this has been said around the 1266 in the past, but I didn't understand it until now.

So yeah, that was a really beautiful moment. These headphones are incredible.
