So, is there going to be an Abyss AB 1266 Phi TC --> MR?

I am always wondering about a new AB 1266 beyond the TC, especially as more and more time goes by since their release. I didn't even know there was a new Diana MR until yesterday, but I guess it's been out for 6-12 months? I at least saw that there wasn't a 1266 "MR". Anyone have any details or ideas about a new 1266?

I'm not using headphones at all these days but the closed still holds interest as it will be exciting to hear where their ceiling lands.

personally I think it will be VERY difficult to significantly top the 1266 TC..perhaps some small bit of enhanced detail could be squeezed out but in truth at this level of detail and my aging ears the odds are I probably would have trouble distinguishing...for me the strength of the 1266 TC is obviously its bass, its exciting presentation, its detail and very importantly its great soundstage..using it with my recently aquired tube amp has made it even more impressive

Better comfort, less weight and better midrange but everything else sounds perfect to my ears

the weight and comfort are tradeoffs IMHO of what makes it such a compelling HP...the midrange with the upgraded cable my tube amp is damn good so no complaints there

I've got the non-TC version of the 1266⏀and it's hard to imagine anything sounding better (never owned the TC and only spent 10 minutes with one at a Head-Fi gathering). I'm tempted by Susvara, but want to hear it first to make sure it's significantly different enough (to my ears) to justify the big $$$.

Sus is worth owning for sure along with 1266tc. They are my 2 main headphones, I've heard pretty much every other headphone and these 2 are still the best to me and make great companion headphones as they are so different from each other

I have listened to most every HP and bought and sold so many but I always come back to the 1266tc and susvara.....in the planar world they simply are king of the hill IMHO

^^Thanks guys. You're confirming what I was thinking, in that the Sus would be a welcome addition. I had been also reading/studying the phenomenon that is the Tungsten, but hesitant due to an indefinite waiting period and the possible need for an additional amp to run it.
