Our new Firmware release for the DX50: 1.9.5

Improvements with this firmware:

1. Support for ISO files.

2. In Directory view, allows the pressing of the thumbnail of folders for additional features.

3. Updated FLAC decode engine.

4. Updated WAV decode engine.

5. Updated DSD decode engine.

Hmmm... interesting, I think I will give it a try tonight against SU 1.3.3 @ FLAC-only/IIR off/CPU default @ my modified DX5X.

I'll check it out tonight too!

I don't know about coiL, but I'm impressed! This is definitely my favorite sounding stock firmware. It definitely sounds different from 1.9.4. I need more listening time before I can say anymore.

*Definitely* sounds different to 1.9.4...but I like it! There's a warmer bass and less harsh (not that they were) mids... for the first time I can now use with my e12a amp and zero EQ. Outstanding. The last 2 firmwares have kept the DX50 going, and I'm so pleased, thanks iBasso!

My DX50 keeps shutting down in the middle of songs. I restart it and it will play the last song ok.

Please update to the latest FW and after the update do a factory reset. If this doesn't work then use the Batch Tool that is on the 1st page of the DX80 thread.

Hi, I'm just wondering what headphones or iem's you are using with the dx50 & E12a

My brother is considering an amp for the dx50 because the hiss. He is looking at the Fiio e12, fiio e11k (fiio a3), or the jds labs c5

Have you guys ever stacked these how do they match up? And what do you think is best for iem's and light duty cans?

The E12A does well but the E12 DIY does even better. There are a bunch of RSA portables in balanced and the P5 is bigger but like a desktop amp, crazy good.

edit: I have never had hiss with anything on the DX50. It is odd that you are getting any.

I was telling him about the E12DIY because he could customize it so that's definitely an option! He seems pretty dead set on the jds c5 though but I thought it was smart to ask you guys first. He's got the ath-ckr9 iem's and wow are the sensitive. They pick up everything so the hiss is bad right now. "Great iem's might I add"

I use the Cayin C5 with my DX50 and I love it!

I really like the latest FW 1.9.5. With this I find the musicality, that used to be pretty much equal to the AK100 mkII, now a step ahead of the AK.

I own the ATH CKR9LTD --- flat EQ on the DX50 and have no hissing issues.

My benchmark for evaluating treble is Eric Clapton's "Let it Grow" from the 461 Ocean Blvd album. If it sound fine with that it's typically all good.

Cheers
