Hi, I wrote to iBasso and they gave me the following instructions to get into recovery mode, which for some reason they don't seem to have included in the manual:

1, press and hold both of the power and vol+ buttons for 5 second, then you can entry the recovery mode.
2, use the vol+ and vol- to move the highlight to "wipe date/factory reset".
3, click the power button to select.

So I had to wipe internal storage and settings but at least it now works.

I would argue that they don't really have to, since the device is based on the Android OS. Here the recovery procedure on a non rooted phone/tablet/whatever is exactly the same.

You have a point though, the iBasso manual isn't all that great.....

Cheers.

I'm not a gearhead, so I have no idea about such things. I just want to have something that plays music. Therefore for people like me, not documenting a basic thing like that in the manual seems pretty dumb.

Make sure You have set it to 16bit/44kHz, then there shouldn`t be lag. Any app that lets it to use with ASO, KSP or WASAPI - use one of them and set buffer level higher.

When I connect DX50 to a Mac Mini, select audio device (rk2928sdk), and click play - turned off USB and Bluetooth. Detected one device - rk2928sdk. Tried on two computers - all same. And no music from DX50.

After you connected it - check the Audio Midi Setup on your Mac (it's an app that comes with your Mac).

If the DX50 is selected, unplug and replug the USB from the DX50, it happened to me too, just needed this extra step and worked fine.

Also make sure your volume join the DX50 is not too high otherwise you might blow your ears....

K

@Paul - iBasso

Many, many thanks for getting the DX50 working as a USB DAC. It's been a while but eventually you did it. And it's opening up so many more use cases for this little wonder.

So thank you for getting this done!!!

Cheers,
K

Just switched to 1.9.3 and the mac compatible DAC functionality is a welcome addition.  More importantly for me though, is that my GAPLESS IS WORKING LIKE A CHARM!  Brilliant!!

Thanks for the continued development,  I'm a very happy customer. :)

Besides that running 10.9.4 is pretty dangerous as only 10.9.5 has the latest security patches...?

Why not free update to 10.10.4?

Fair enough. Understandable.

I can only confirm that it works well with 10.10.4

Hi! First post here.

Has anyone else had any problem with the new firmware v1.9.3, please? I have some hi res files in .dsf format that play under dsd64 codec in foobar and previously played on my DX50 and sounded brilliant (except for gapless not working on that format, yet it worked on all other formats).

I was expecting these files to show as 24bit 88kHz when I played them on the new firmware but instead they played as 1bit and a crazy number of kHz.  I've emailed iBasso twice and not had a response so I wondered if anyone here could suggest anything to re-install v1.9.3 correctly, please?

Currently, I've reverted to firmware 1.9.2 and I do follow the instructions for firmware installation very carefully and not had any problems before when I've upgraded the firmware.

Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated! Many thanks in advance.
