The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

Sorry to bother...

The latest version I seem to be able to track down is from 11/2014.  Does that sound correct?  I'm inclined to think not.

I've read that there is a New Doc's Ultimate Final too.  Is that something different? Better/worse that Favourite Final?

No Firmware can possibly broke your DX50 unless you fried it with oil when upgrading the firmware. On a more serious note though, either 1.3.3 SU for warm, relaxing sound or New Doc Favourite Final Firmware (latest one) for incredible Detail.

SU 1.3.3 has also incredible detail !

Though, with upgraded HW it`s different thing...

Doc's one is really transparent to my ear, the detail seems to be easier to notice. However, I like my music that flows with subtle detail like the 1.3.3 rather than shoving it in your face like DOC one. Its is good, just not my taste.

Just installed 1.9.3 and I'm now using it as a external DAC for my Macbook Pro!  It only supports 48kHz/ 32 bit integer, but I don't think this should be a problem.

Just wanted to ask - when used as an external DAC and then via the line out to another amp, the volume should be set to 255 just like when using the line out while
working as a  DAP, right?

using 1.9.2 at the moment and its not bad.  Wondering if they have tinkered with the sound at all in regards to 1.9.3.  I have a mac so will definitely give it a try for the dac functionality.  Be interesting if they have taken a leaf out of the SU or Doc playbook and changed the sound.

More importantly, hows the SQ compared to more respected custom firmwares? I don`t bother to try myself.

Anybody has Ibasso support contact email? Sadly I got a problem with the screen. Dead pixels :cry::cry::cry:

I tried everything mentioned here (removing battery,  factory reset, soft shake) but nothing changed.

A friend bought my unit in NY (B&H) and I'm in Chile. So I don't have a clue of what to do.

Hopefully I can make use of the warranty somehow.
