I need some help w the rock box platform. It's a pretty simple and basic question but does anyone know how to make a simple play list on Rock box? It's ridiculous. Just simple step by step redementary instructions.

Guys, is it true? And is DX50 also going to be discontinued soon after?

Yes, it's true, both DX50 and DX90 are being discontinued. Someone posted it as 'rumour' obviously from word of mouth (someone) then Paul iBasso confirmed its true.

Like howdy mentioned, iBasso also said when asked 'they will release more DAPs'

It's all in one of the DX90 threads.

Ok. It`s good news actually. Maybe they will not use those crappy sounding Jovial caps on the new "DX5x" and use also some better other components too.
One thing though, I really wish they will stick with that 3-button control design for using without touchscreen. Also NO scrolling wheels please!

I think it's about time I get a soldering iron and some caps.

Just updated my DX50 from 1.6.0 to 1.9.3! Haven't had the time to evaluate the improvement in sound but in the usb settings, I notice that there are 4 categories: storage, charging only, USB DAC for PC/Linux, and USB DAC for Mac.

So, if I were to use my DX50 as DAC from my mac, all I need to do is set sound to DX50? So no need for USB driver for mac computers?

That is exactly right. No drivers needed.

However it only works in 24/48 config.

Cheers,
K

You mean it only plays 24/48 files on mac? No typical redbook 16/44 ?

Updated to the latest FW yesterday, performed a factory reset, re-scanned the SD card, and....

...STILL NO WORKING GAPLESS!!!

It nearly works, but there is still a cut-off of about a second or so.

Oh, well, at least it's saved me the price of the D14 I was going to buy! I will be sticking with my HM-650 in the hope of a FW update there...

Crazy thought:

Can the DX50 accept the output from an iPhone via CCK?

If so, I could keep all my gapless-critical files (e.g. opera) on my phone and run the output via DX50 and amp..

1) Did You detele DX50 created folders after adding new music?
2) Did You do rescan library after that (not scan sd card) ?

Tried version 1.9.3 and the bug with the playlists has been resolved only for the export function in the DX50. On the import it still cannot import any file that contains a single tick in the string. Example "Knockin' on heavens door". C'mon iBasso....

Cheers.

Nice to see some Linux support for the DAC, this was my secondary reason for getting a DAP that had the functionality. Plugged into an Ubuntu box, and although I do get this in dmesg:

[1651609.960019] usb_audio: Warning! Unlikely big volume range (=7248), cval->res is probably wrong.
[1651609.960024] usb_audio: [2] FU [PCM Playback Volume] ch = 1, val = -7264/-16/1

it worked without anything more than reconfiguring which audio output I'm using. Cheers, Ibasso.

We will see what we can do with this but it will be a few weeks.
