I have no idea if it`s legit Japan cell (in front says 100% Japan cell but on back says made in china) but I hope so, anyway it was cheap and posts from EU so I took it: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161710770331?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Probably it is fake "Japan made".

Btw I did some more research about this brand and battery. Actually it seems pretty legit stuff, they pack it nicely and even show the weight scaled on pictures by many sellers like with this seller for example:
http://www.dhgate.com/product/eb-l1g6llu-s3-battery-for-samsung-galaxy/216897847.html#s1-5-1b|3530254409
Also the thing that they don`t claim some absurd mAh number on sticker and do write Japan cell + made in china (fake Japan ones usually tend to have just "made in Japan" written to catch attention to "quality") gives some assuring hope it is legit Japan stuff. Market is overthrown with all those fake and relabeled batteries but I do hope this one is legit. When I get it will remove sticker and hope to find some proof under it like NFC and dual protection circuit which they claim to have (sorry, not NFC I looked wrong thing).

I received this FourHeart battery today and took some pics:

Don`t know if it is claimed "100% Japan Cell" and how to check by code but seems like legit Samsung battery anyway.
Will leave it charging and report back later about playtime and "sound change".

Well... I don`t know if it is about dual-protection circuit with this battery or whatever but...
*tried charging with external wall charger - result ~11h playtime
*tried charging with DX50 behind PC - result ~11h playtime
*tried charging DX50 with external wall charging adapter (Samsung 2A) - result ~11h playtime

So, it has less playtime than original Pisen 2100mAh battery and I didn`t notice any sound change.

Now, I got also "3120mAh" KINPS battery and it lasts ~14h20min. Haven`t compared sound change compared to other batteries but so far I haven`t noticed anything.

All tests were done with following settings:

SU 1.3.3 @ FLAC/ IIR off/ CPU default
Vol - 188
Screen brightness 50
Screen was used about 4min.
HO @ mid gain

I`m done with batteries... next time will get Anker 2200mAh or KINPS.

I use my DX50 (with latest rockbox) with a Anker 4400 mAh S3 battery. On medium gain, 16bit FLAC playback, volume -22 dB, screen brightness 25, screen on idle time 15 sec. I get with this configuration 25,3 hours of playback, pretty happy.

Is it same measure as stock battery or thicker so I couldn`t use backplate of DX50? Didn`t know that Anker had also 4400mAh version.

You can't use the backplate, but no problem for me, this case fit with 4400 mAh battery and SD card adapter fine: http://www.head-fi.org/t/679473/the-ibasso-dx50-thread-latest-firmware-1-9-2/16665#post_11455972

Here the 2100 mAh vs 4400 mAh for compare:

The largest S3 (without NFC) battery with the same size as the stock battery are 2400 mAh from Akku-King, Mumbi or PolarCell.

i'm using original S3 batt that has NFC.

i do not think there should be an issue to use it on DX50.

To clarify, what I mean. To keep the size of the original S3 battery there is no space for a NFC antenna inside, so the largest battery capacity is 2400 mAh, without NFC. A S3 battery with the same size as the original S3 can be up to 2200 mAh capacity with an NFC antenna inside, so with NFC. And the DX50 don't use and can't use NFC at all, so it doesn't matter in any case, what you use. It needs only a Samsung S3 battery that's all.

Hi everyone, i am a new user of DX50, just bought it today XD

and if anyone could help me i would be really appreciated.

actually i have a Vmoda Vampverza and i found out it cannot be paired with DX50, does anyone here have any solution or answer on how to pair them?

Jun 10, 2015 at 3:15 PM Post #17,245 of 18,652
Well... it seems it doesn`t have coaxial input, so, I`m out of ideas...
Input: 3.75" Tuono Lightning Cable, 30-pin iDevice Cable (iPhone, iPad, iPod), microUSB-microUSB (Android), USB-microUSB (PC/MAC) - See more at: http://v-moda.com/vamp/#tech

But question is - why do You want to use Vmoda DAC/Amp instead DX50 DAC/Amp? You wanted to use Vmoda as external amp?

Hmmmmm.  Just changed my firmware to 1.3.3 to see what all the fuss was about.  This appears to sound better with my hd 25 aluminium's but makes my titan's sound a little harsh.  When I was on firmware 1.6 they were already a little bright but now the titan's have a more 'brittle' quality to the sound.  On some tracks the clarity shines through but on many it is painful to listen to.  Real shame, as I am really enjoying these titan iems.  Coil has just been so adamant on how good 1.3.3 is that I had to try it

.  Fortunately it is so easy to change firmware's but was hoping for a "fix all" with 1.3.3.

Have you tried New Doc's Favorite Ultimate Firmware?

If you could give me a link, I would love to give it a go.  Was settling on official 1.6 for a while as it gave me the least problems.  1.8 and 1.92 seemed to glitch on my unit (possibly the way my songs are ripped or the sd card....or pixies).  Is it warmer/more forgiving...what do you like about it?

cheers

BigDave, just to be sure, did You try different settings from hidden bootup menu? SU 1.3.3 should have littlebit "smoothed" highs actually, maybe it`s just Your IEM signature + sensitive ears?
