Hi there,

Back to the stuttering/blanking problem. @Howlin Fester @ph0n6 @VariMu @7S Cameron @CoiL

So I have formated one of my exFAT sd card: it is now a FAT32 sd card. No more stuttering with Doc's ultimate firmware. I have reformated my other exFAT sd card, still exFAT, and copy on it 1GB of music: I have stuttering.

So first conclusions for me:
  1. with official firmwares since 1.4 and unofficial firmwares based on official I have stuttering with my two 64GB Sandisk uSDcard exFAT formatted, filled out or not. Nevertheless, works fine on Rockbox, no stuttering at all.
  1. Once formatted on FAT32, no stuttering with official or unofficial firmwares.

Next step:
  1. I have to fill my newly FAT32 formatted SD card with music to know if the problem comes back because of too full SD card.

But since I'm new on FAT32, I don't know about allocation units size with this format. On exFAT, I choose 32KB cause I only listen large lossless files. I use SDFormatter 4.0 which doesn't offer default clusters size option.

Larger files - larger allocation unit. Depends if You use full album rips (single file) or mainly single track rips. But it shouldn`t make much difference to playback, if any.

just got a Dx 50 and updated to the latest firmware and it keeps crashing:frowning2: Can someone help me how to go about installing the SU EX firmware?? Thanks!

I am very sorry about this. Did you do a Factory Reset? You can try reloading the FW and doing an update. Sometimes a corruption to a small part of the file can happen during download. A new download can help. If this continues try the previous version of the FW. We are working on a new FW to correct any problems.

iBasso Stay updated on iBasso at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

I use single tracks rips, 20-35MB each. Do you know a software which runs on Win7 and does FAT32 format with allocation unit size option?

right click format?

I definitely wouldn't mess around with SU EX if the DX50 is new to you. I would try stock for a while and then try either DOCs NDUFF, SU 1.3.3 or SU 1.4.

Nope, 64GB SD card, Win 7 has 32GB limitation on FAT32.

Are You sure W7 Disk Management doesn`t let to do it? If I remember correctly, then I formatted my mSDXC without problems under Wx64 but it depends on the card reader also.
But maybe this helps: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

Edit:

Just bought this OTG mSD card reader for ~2£ http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400834118919?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Wanted to buy Meenova Dash Micro but couldn`t find it on sale in EU. But I think it will do fine also and I will try to "chop" it even smaller
