Thnx but no, I don`t like rockbox interface. Keeping it simple with SU 1.3.3 Mango

I had no doubt :)

BTW, I installed this theme - http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=2172&target=cowond2 (touchscreen helpers are awesome "resume/cancel/up/select/down"). It is very intuitive.

Now rockbox has better SQ, it's better than 1.3.3 for me :)

I highly recommend SU 1.4 if you haven't tried it already.

I know you are a big fan of SU, but you also were a serious proponent of gapless. Does SU 1.4 do gapless with FLAC?

My first test after upgrading is always Dark side of the Moon.

DFFF definitely does gapless.

Is Your SU version of RB based on 1.4 or 1.3.3 ? Maybe going to give it a try some day... if I`m bored. 1.3.3 is really spot-on for me and my gear. I liked Your experimental 1.2.2 too but FW is too "plain" for me. Actually SU 1.2.2 exp sounds pretty much same as changing capacitors to Vishay RSU 038 series  I haven`t received some of capacitors yet so takes me time to find "final" setup. But I really like SU 1.3.3 + Panasonic FC.

It's based on "plain" 1.2.2 exp

but also have some "hifi" tweak to sound like a MangoPlayer.

Is there a link or something that lists all of the custom firmware? I looked on the first page and it doesn't say anything.

Sound Unlocked: https://github.com/dm1try/dx50_sound_unlocked

DOC`s Firmwares: http://player.ru/showthread.php?t=139417&s=3fffcd48c02b663e8e090681c22db0c9

SU 1.3.3 @ flac/iir off/cpu default and New Docs Favourite Firmware Final are best so far, imho.

SU 1.2.2 exp is also great soundwise but it`s "old" UI.
If You like Rockbox, then there is Sound Unlocked version of it (based on SU 1.2.2exp) : http://www.head-fi.org/t/709855/rockbox-for-ibasso-dx50-cwm-recovery-latest-update-2014-09-15/1395#post_11158919

OK, so been playing with the DX50 with KAM HP1 for a few hours switched to SU 1.4 sounded really good.  Decided to try NDFFF was not really happy with some of the more forward sounding instruments on the same songs I played, switched back.  So now I guess it's time to work on a burn in and see what we end up with.

I just updated to docs latest firmware, really enjoying the interface. I don't see all the settings options everybody is raving about though. I've gone through all visible menus as well

The firmware with the settings everyone is raving about would be Sound Unlocked.
