thank you very much!x5ii is my forever love as well:darthsmile:

I never did get a chance to hear that one. I quite liked the X5 Classic, and didn't much care for the new X5III. But somehow I missed the 5II.

X5ii is the DAP everyone needs to hear at least once!

Works really well with RE-2000, I've been driving them from either X5ii or Opus #3, both make awesome partners for RE-2000, each in its own way! Opus #3 provides more top end energy than X5ii, but X5ii has its own way of presenting the mids in a sweet and warm way!

Is the RE $2000 much better than the CA Andromeda?

If so, what things does it do better than the Andromeda?

Also does the RE $2000 have hiss with a Chord Mojo? (the Andromeda that I tried had some hiss)

I can't compare RE-2000 directly to Andromeda, but it doesn't hiss with any source I have so far, and it sounds better than all IEMs I heard so far and I would place it on the same level or higher when compared to the sound of HD800S and LCD-4

Dynamic Driver IEMs usually arent nearly as sensitive as multi-BA IEMs and arent prone to pickup hiss.

Very true.

A rare example would be the inexpensive Ostry KC06A (single dynamic driver per side) - which is even more sensitive to revealing hiss than my SE846 that is already among the most hiss-revealing in-ears. :astonished:

I would like to hear these but I haven't had much luck trying to get a set for review. Oh well I will focus on the other $2000 IEM's I have in the stable. The bass in the Dita Audio Dream is some of the finest I have heard speaking of DD's.

Chris you are a fan of the SE846?

I never was a big fan of the Fiio. I had the X3 and the X5. They really were my first foray into DAPs, their price is what really appealed to me. But it is like everything in audio world, what one person thinks is great sound to another person isn't. Once I tried other DAPs I realized I enjoyed others much more. I will say I was intrigued with the X5iii for a very fleeting second.

Let's hope that RE-2000 will get there!

While RE-800 are some of the most detailed IEMs I heard in their price range and they are well worth their money, RE-2000 goes even further. RE-2000 not only has the details and intricacies of RE-800, but RE-2000 also brings a sweet musicality to the sound, and one of the best bass I have heard. The sound is not only musical, but it feels real. The treble is real, tangible and so is every guitar note played through RE-2000

The pairing with X5ii is incredible as well, since this is my portable setup many times!

My honest advice would be to consider X7mkii as well if you want a true upgrade from X5ii, but X5ii does very very well at driving RE-2000!

I love Opus #3 as well though, it is a great DAP! I actually listened to RE-2000 from both X5ii and Opus #3, and both were amazing, each in its own way.

I reviewed X5-3 and didn't get one, the sound was not my thing with it, X5ii and X7+AM03 are the best FiiO made so far IMHO

It is ok to like Fiio it is strictly my opinion. They are less expensive and that is appealing to many people just as it was to me at that time. It was not just about sound their UI was just not as polished as say A&K. I have owned 3 A&Ks and they aren't for everyone. The Opus #2 is a great player as well just based on sound quality.
