So if the GS-X mk2 is 'neutral' the B22 and Soloist are bright or the B22 and Soloist are neutral and the GS-X mk2 is tilted down.

i like this idea

True that, I can clip my power amp on low gain /shrug  Anyway I think we've beat it enough.

I'm at work and away from my notes but not surprisingly the GS-X mk2 swept it against the Burson Soloist.  The Soloist did close the gap between the B22 and GS-X mk2 in all areas but tonally was similar to the B22.  So if the GS-X mk2 is 'neutral' the B22 and Soloist are bright and thin/dry or the B22 and Soloist are neutral and the GS-X mk2 is tilted down and full/liquid.

Full review posted tonight.

You might not agree.  But that's the benefits of 4 channels.  Better bass and better bass control. At least that's what I'm hearing..

Definitely don't agree given even on the LCD-3 my balanced B22 wasn't as controlled or deep as the Soloist.  If the GS-X mk2 gets even deeper and more controlled great.  Again this is in comparison.  I still think the B22 is number 3 in solid state cost no object though.

IIRC - Your other B22 were 3 channels.  Correct me if I'm wrong. My memory is not good.   You did have a 4 channel - correct?

Going from the GS-1 to the GS-X is a difference.  The 2 channel and 3 channel B22 that I compared to a 4 channel B22 again there was a difference in the bass region.

Cost no object I'll go with a highly custom made B22 over any Burson any day of the week.

Has anyone compared these to the Mjolnir? Also has anyone tried these with the HE6? It would be kinda nice if I was able to run my HE6 and HD800 off the same amp.

And B22 balanced vs GSX?

That's too bad. The HE6 is so difficult to drive well. In order for me to upgrade I would want something that runs off both headphones so I can consolidate a bit.

Somewhat similar results against BHA-1. BHA-1 sounded bright compared to GS-X, but not dry for sure. Bass tonality is better on GS-X, thou not as quantitative as BHA1, which does not mean is not there. It means it more tight and controlled.
This was done with LCD3(not sure about HD800 and SE output form GS-X, need more time)
