do you guys know how much GS-X mk2 takes for burn-in? and what changes during and after?
Burn-in time greatly depends on the color of the front panel. Which one does your copy have?

Meze Empyrean II lots of reviews say they are amp-picky and aren't a perfect match forever amp, does anyone have this pairing with the GSX?

Considering buying one of these had a Bryston BHA-1 assuming they are similar? Also how is the depth, I'm also guessing that is good according to it's price

I've not heard the Bryston, but the GS-X MKII is incredible. You do have to pair your headphones properly though. It will be really bright with bright headphones, if that bothers you. I run planars and modded Fostex TH-909s and really enjoy the pairing. I listened to it with the OG Focal Utopia and it was way too bright for my tastes. The depth is going to depend on the headphones you run with it. It's a very capable amp. You may want to look at the newest HeadAmp CFA3. It's supposed to be an upgrade to the GS-X.

CFA3 is totally different from GSX and not a straight upgrade. GS-X reflects the quality of the source and you can add weight and warmth to the amp with a better power supply. I have no issue with OG Utopia being bright when sourced from playback designs dac.

I have had the GSX MK2 for a few months now, and it is the most transparent amp I have spent time with. The sound keeps getting more transparent the more upgrades I give to my chain, whether fuses, power cords, power supplies, etc. Almost done pinning it down.

You can upgrade the power supply for an even better sound. Also, it doubles as a fantastic preamp.

How would I do that/which one should I order? Is it a separate regenerator or an upgraded LPS from stock?
You have to get that custom made by someone - it's dual mono golden reference power supply.

Picked up a used GS-X Mk2 and have been enjoying it and this thread...

So I thought I would add some observations - first I was curious as to power draw so I put my kilo-watt on it and found mine starts cold at about 24 watts but climbs to 34 watts after about 20 minutes of listening as it warms up

2nd observation is that I have a Burson 3X GT, and it has a subwoofer out - I have paired it with an SVS 3000 micro that sits under my desk in my office and when I want to jam some EDM it is nice to switch it to HP+sub and get some extra bass that you feel.

Since the GS-X mk2 has switchable pre outs I think it would also work similarly - you could add a sub via the pre-outs, adjust the amount of bass you like via the crossover on the sub, and then turn on the output via the pre-out switch.

The SVS 3000 micro is controllable via app, and I have different volume presets for open and closed headphones .
