If you've seen both first-hand I'll gladly defer to your memory. I've only seen a picture of the back of the PS1K driver so I'm not a very reliable source.

I was told by a friend of Jamie Grado (John's long lost cousin) that les_garten's HF-2.0 will be made by the lost tribe of Earaetchia who are know to be the best etchers in the world. The best part, a fellow Earaetchian gets to live with les to make sure the lettering stays pristine forever. However, his warranty is not transferable.

Like asking theoretically about the viability or need of an amp or DAC in a setup. And buying new headphones, and saying Hmm, maybe its time to upgrade my source now!

So I had some time to properly audition an ESW9 yesterday and it was quite good. Very nice chocolate-y sound with beautiful midrange and non-fatiguing clarity. Comfort was a bit of a let-down though because its supra-aural nature, as the pad just sits on my ears rather than enveloping it like the Denon D2000. If I were not purchasing the HF2, I would have bought them on spot.

My question, how does the ESW9 compare with the HF2 for those who have heard both? I think the ESW9 would be the direction I take for portable listening.
