Actually, having a not-so-great source on hand can help you find out how forgiving a headphone/iem can be. That's part of the reason why I gravitated towards the MH models, ultimately deciding on the 335DW. I only used my iPhone and an AK10 while demoing the Fitears (as well as Jerry Harvey and VisionEar models) plus some 320kpbs mp3 podcast mixes. The 334 and 335 were very kind to the LQ music, while the 435 was just brutal in that regard.
