I’ve got a X3II that no longer holds any charge, as soon as I unplug the charger it shuts of.
With the charger connected, the little LED lights red, and the display shows the battery charging.

It seems my problem is solved.
I opened the case with the special screwdriver, removed the battery connector and then measured the voltage of the battery 4.051V, hmm, seems quite ok.
But the connector back on the pcb and connected the charger, hmm, voltage is a bit higher so the battery is being charged --> charger circuit OK.
Powered up the player with charger still connected, no problem, disconnected the charger and it continued playing :)
My conclusion is that the battery connector was not making a solid connection, disconnecting and reconnecting solved the problem.
I slightly bend the bracket that is holding the connector (still removed on the photo) to give just a bit more pressure, hoping this will prevent the problem in the future.

I'm very happy my X3II is working again as it sounds way better than my iPhone 7

kind regards, Peter

Hi there I'm the New proud owner of a Black X3 mark iii
Is there any option(hack) to be able to speed up the music ..I'm a Zumba instructor and some songs are better to dance to when speed up.. I can do this on my Samsung S8. But not on my Fiio x1 ii or x3iii

My X3ii seems to have died today, after 2.5 years of service.

In the middle of switching from one song to another, the player froze. Upon reboot, only half of the memory card contents were recognized. After a couple more reboots, the card was not recognized at all. Then all the menus started freezing, with or without card.

Any menu item (About, Media lib update, Folders, etc.) - freeze
Resetting to factory settings - freeze
Shutting down the player - freeze
Updating the firmware - update successful, but still freezes

This happens regardless of whether there is a memory card inserted or not. I actually tested the card (Sandisk 200GB) on my PC - works just fine. So it is the player then..

Any ideas? :frowning2:

Fiio advised to flash back with the older firmware, 1.6, and that actually did the trick :D Then I updated again to 2.0 and it works fine again now

I'd pick the older X3ii over the new model due to more output power and the bigger battery. The only advantage the new model has IMO is the balanced jack, if you're into that.
