Glad you like it!

What are the most noticeable improvements over DX50 to you sound wise?

First thing that stuck out were the lows, there's more punch and it's favourably tighter.

I'd say overall the x3ii is more musical without that feeling of being too warm.

Noticing less floor noise using Westone 4r also.

This is just what I've taken note of in the first hour or so without having used my dx50 yet for a proper comparison.

That sounds about right. I can already hear that musicality you mention from FiiO's previous X1 unit, something which keeps drawing me to their player. Keep us updated as you settle in!

So is the FiiO X3K available anywhere yet, in the USA?

OK so I had it in the kart at Aliexpress, got the message saying don't pay until the price is changed. This was on Friday, my price was never updated checked again today (and checked every day)

and now says sold out. What

Very disappointed in the way Aliexpress handled this, anybody else missed out on this deal because of Aliexpress

Does Fiio read this forum, can they help us in anyway ?

I think, probably the following thing has happened:

The code checking process takes a while... So probably many people could put the X3 in the cart. And on a first come first serve basis they were checking the items already in the carts...
So I guess, you have just missed it... Maybe you were the 201st in the queue...

Sorry bro'...

Listening to mine now, with Beoplay H6:)

There's nothing wrong with this at all - maybe I'm not as picky, or I might be not as acute in hearing as some others around here, but I'm done stuffing around with this headfi malarkey.. This is more the good enough:)

Listening to some high res binaural FLAC's - Colletti, Rubarth and Chesky.

I think you have to have fairly deep pockets to beat it. I'm happy… I'm just gonna buy high-res downloads, buy then rip the cd's etc. until I'm settled, then setup another vinyl/speaker system. Signing off.

Bye HeadFi for now!

Dear all,

I would just like to apologize for the troubles you guys/gals have had with the discount for X3 1st gen owners hosted on Aliexpress. We would have loved for it to be an equal-opportunity first-come-first served experience that ran smoothly (and selling out suitably quickly to reflect the demand for this player :p ) but judging from the feedback here it was not to be. Sorry for having Washingtonians sit out on this deal, and sorry Raymate (I'd love to tell you that bestula's thesis is what actually happened, but I don't think we received 200 valid orders all on Friday). I would have loved to do something about the situation while the offer was still going, but I was feeling quite ill these few days and could only watch the proceedings from bed :( And now it's all over (for better or for worse).

Anyway, I offer my congratulations to those lucky 200 who got the deal :) Although I gather that dealing with Aliexpress had been a pain in the a**, we did eventually manage to sell all 200 promotional X3 2nd gens through it, so our promise was fulfilled. Sorry to those who wasted time in vain trying to get the deal, but (unless I hear differently from FiiO HQ later) I don't see how you may be compensated for your lost time and effort this time around. But we certainly will do things differently and try to make things run more smoothly the next time we have a similar offer!

Best regards,
Joe

Thanks for the kind words, Joe. It was not fun feeling like it was almost within reach (one of those Washingtonians :), but many were bound to be disappointed with only 200 available anyways. Doesn't sound like Fiio did anything wrong, so no apology needed. But, like I said, I still appreciate you reaching out to the community!

After having 2 orders cancelled by aliexpress I ordered from micca store.   It actually arrived last night.  Haven't gotten a chance to use it yet too much but had it plugged into the aux in my car radio on my way to work and I liked the sound.

I did notice that if you are using a sacd iso the songs display and play in alphabetical order.   Is that just how it works or is there a setting somewhere to change it to track order?

Thanks
Mike
