The Hidizs ap 100 uses the same dac as the x3 II. But the Hidizs is not as sparkly in the treble as the Fiio x1 and x5 and the bass is not as tight. It would be interesting to see if Fiio could make this dac sound better.

Hmmm... better UI + native DSD (not DSD over pcm) + decent battery life + decent screen = $199? Seems like 1+2+1+1= 1 to me! I have no idea when the original X3 came out so just about when is this thing going to go on sale?
I'm desperate for a back-up music player that's less than 300 bucks so I wish to know. Thanks!

I think they said they would start production in April if memory serves me right so maybe we would see them in May.

I wished next month or the month later but seems like Fiio will take their time (I'm a little desperate for a backup player lol). I do like that though, because companies such as iBasso which released their DX50 too early in development (imo) got their reputation ruined because of their bad firmware and the crashes. They have their firmware set up alright now but better later than now if this will be a problem with any sorta product I guess.
any ways, cheers for the X3K!

Yes I was hoping to see it sooner too and the design seems to be based mostly on the X1 so the firmware is probably very similar too. Maybe they just want to wait for a spring release. I read a lot of things about the quirky firmware for the DX50 which scared me away from that DAP. I have the X3 that I bought about a year ago now and the firmware was buggy in the beginning for it too (a lot of freezing) but it seems pretty good now. I've read reviews for the X1 and it seems to be fine right out of the box so I expect the same when the new X3 is released.

Very sorry, we are busy in the manufacturing of X1 and our worker will have a long long holiday for the Chinese New Year ( from 1st, Feb to 15st, March ) so it is impossible to produce the new X3 in the coming soon.

BTW, in fact, we have produce 200 unit for testing, marketing , so the test tour will start from March.
