Very sorry, we are busy in the manufacturing of X1 and our worker will have a long long holiday for the Chinese New Year ( from 1st, Feb to 15st, March ) so it is impossible to produce the new X3 in the coming soon.

BTW, in fact, we have produce 200 unit for testing, marketing , so the test tour will start from March.

There is no reason for you to be sorry. I think a lot of us are just anxious to get the new X3 and we will have it soon enough. In the meantime I can still enjoy my original X3. I'd love to get my hands on one of those test units though!

I'll tell my boss that I'm taking a Chinese New Year holiday.  After he agrees, I'll tell him it's from 1 Feb to 15 March. :D

You go and do that.

I didn't see an X3 II tour thread yet. Did I miss it, or it just hasn't been posted yet?

That's just totally understandable and I hope you get to enjoy your break. No one expects Fiio to be Apple any way :p (plus Apple's kinda crap) I'm just hoping it comes to Korea where I'm living at the moment quickly because the last time the X1 was out it came out in Korea  so late :( not Fiio's fault (the retailers and the dealers) but it probably took couple months late to get it in Korea compared to US. I would be expecting X3K for demo in late June or early July then. cheers

remember the others failed to impress because their dap's has some bugs (hw&sw) me already enjoying my old dap

Their daps were very well received in spite of bugs at the beginning and the X1 came to market with a nearly flawless UI - they've ironed out 99% of the kinks and still work hard to improve it. Troll elsewhere.

My X1 remains on the same firmware it arrived with months ago, I haven't had one single issue with my X1, not one. It does everything asked, has never frozen or missed a single beat. I also demoed X5 on home audition for 20 days without a single problem. I don't know about X3 as I didn't follow that thread closely though I was an early adapter of iBasso DX50, maybe they should be used as a better example of buggy half-baked releases. Regardless I really don't think this unit will have any issues. FiiO have been doing this a while now.

How do you feel about the sturdiness of the X5 scroll wheel vs. the X1's. I want to get the new X3 and it appears it will have the same scroll wheel as the X1. Do you find that they are durable and unlikely to break under normal usage?

The gap between having X5 is too far apart to give a definite answer. I have much expereince with my X1 scroll wheel and it does the job fairly consistently. By all means I can understand people kicking up a fuss about it not turning completely smooth or having a clunky feeling, though it usually hits where I'm aiming, if not a tiny scroll back get there. I think what many people forget is the two bottom buttons also work as up/down when browsing folders at a  much faster rate. If I get tired of spinning the wheel, I simply hold the button down. Pretty simple really. =)

I didn't know the bottom buttons worked that way too. That's good to know. I think I'd like the scroll wheel..it's what I had on my old iPod classic before I bought the X3. I know they are not quite the same but my main concern about the scroll wheel is that it's durable enough and functional and it sounds like it would be fine Thanks for your answer.
