James, do you have a list of specs for the new X3? Output power, battery life, digital out, etc.

almost the same as X3 I, and the main difference is native DSD , new DAC, new AMP , new UI, new form and color.

Thanks James. Are you using Muses opamp in the new X3 II?

Nice to have some official info! Does the LO still run out the bottom or will it be a combined HO/LO like the X1? Also, will you be having another demo unit test run??

1, It is renamed as X3 II, in fact, we will change the model no but the X3 keep the same. something like Audi keep A3,A6,A7,A8 .

2, the new X3 = X1 + USB DAC + bigger power output + Native DSD support + better DAC (CS4398), + Better Amp + coaxial output + 100 US$. btw, the new X3 is a little thicker than X1 and become full metal case.

    or   new X3 = Old X3 + Native DSD supports+ better DAC ( CS4398) + New UI and ID.

The mass production will be done in April and them launch global market.

James posted this in the X1 thread.

the LO is combined with Coaxial out, and we have produced about 200pcs X3 II and waiting for the new firmware and them for test run.

Oh ok, pretty good idea. Works for me cos i don't use coax (not yet anw?). One less opening works.

Edit: Whoo test run!!

5, 7 or 10 band EQ?

Going by the X1's UI probably 7-band i think.

I considered getting the X3 for a while now. I finally decided to go for the Xuelin 770 based on the comparison made by people who have tried both. Anyway, why did Fiio decide to go with the CS4398? Isn't the CS4398 a lower chip than the WM8740? Someone mentioned that the CS4398 is also used in the AK 100ii. I googled and found out that the iPod touch Gen 2 and 3 used the same chip. Makes it harder to tell whether the CS4398 is a good chip or not. I do get that the CS chip consumes less power but performance wise, seems like a downgrade?

Does the Xuelin 770 have album artwork display? What is  the feel of it...I mean does it feel solid all aluminum?

They dual HO is interesting. According to most comparisons between the Xeulin, Fiio X3 and the iBasso DX50, the Xeulin is the best. Also, it's a lot more portable. Most agree that the 100 dollar 770C sound nearly identical if not so and is probably the best bang for the buck DAP. Anyway, The new X3 has piqued my interest. If only a review was available so I can either wait or just stick with the 770.
