Hi, my X3 II gen crashes and turns off everytime I plug something into one of the two jacks (headphone or any kind of aux cord). My firmware is 2.0 and I tried to reset the deviceand also format my SD card but nothing worked. Can someone help me? I have a bad feeling about this. Thank you

p.s: to be precise, it crashes when I plug in something AND a song is playing not if I'm browsing the menus
Dear friend,

It may be a hardware issue with your X3II.
If your X3II is still within the one-year warranty, please contact the seller about that.
If the seller fails to help, please contact support@fiio.com with the receipt attached.
Best regards

https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021815&p_id=5597&seq=1&format=2

can this be used from line out ? any reason to use the supplied coax cable and use another cable from there? also any dsd capability lost ? will line out send 24/88 out from a dsf file or dsd ?
Dear friend,

The cable you mentioned can be used for the lineout port.
When using coaxial output, the output signal is digital one. You would need to connect to a DAC for help. The lineout output would not change the sampling rate of a music file.

Best regards

I've just bought one of these cheap in mint condition with a 200gb. Should be ideal for work

Wow I have some expensive daps but this one sounds really good. Easy to use and tough. Can you buy new batteries for them?

Really impressed with it. Cost me £70 with 200gb memory card. Makes me think I'd like x5ii.
Btw I tried x5iii and it's not that good for my music taste.

X5iii is not great for metal. I do like my q5 though but am thinking of trying out some other amps. Maybe amp 5? Just need good iems too

Yes, Q5 is amazing as an overall device, I like it as well. Works well with metal, good treble extension and nice overall speed. AMP5 will improve its sound even more!

As for IEMs, there are a lot of options. For metal in particular, I would go with something a bit quicker, moderately V-shaped, and with a juicy / emotional midrange, so guitar solos sound crisp and juicy. FiiO FH5 works fairly well if you like a warmer sound, and so does Periodic Audio Be. Then, something like Accoustune HS1650CU is more edgy and more forward-sounding, which works really well with thrash and alternative. For a more neutral sound, there is iBasso IT01S, BGVP DM6, and if you want a really really thick sound, Final Audio E5000

I'm thinking of getting the be but am worried about non removable cable. Are they well built?

They are fairly well built, and I didn't manage to break the cable, with typical usage, so they should last well, but if you tend to abuse your IEMs a bit, I'm not sure what to say. I would say they are amazing for rock and more vintage metal. For how well they are built, I'd say well enough, but I wouldn't abuse them :)

I'm very careful person (OCD) so hence why it takes me a long time to make a decision. I'll probably get the be and hope they are good with black metal. I'm also wondering about questyle daps as they are apparently very neutral

I see. For black metal, things are a tad more complicated, because it is a really hard to play well style, since it is really aggressive.

I haven't heard any questyle DAP to be able to say how they sound

I'm not worried about good iems for black metal. So far some £5 Sony's are best for it! Periodic be should be great for my other listens though
