The FiiO E10K--all-new DAC and amp stages

I get a similar crackling distortion when I'm playing silent parts of a file. Someone here said that you can try using a USB cable with a ferrite bead but I'm not sure if that really helps or not.

I'm not really experienced with the whole dac thing.

But I recently bought myself the E10k dac for a really good price. The only issue I have with it, that it won't work with my Fiio X1. Or am I doing it all wrong and the E10k isn't compatible with the X1? I'm using an OTG adapter to connect the E10k with the X1 playe, but the E10k isn't even turning on (Like it would when you connect it to your computer)...

A cursory look tells me that the USB port on the X1 is for data transfer/charging only, so it wouldn't be supplying power to the E10K.  The E10K is really only meant for desktop use but can sometimes be ghettoed for mobile use (usually using an external battery pack).

It should work if you swapped the E10K with the E11K, for example, as that has its own battery.  I remember a few pages back someone did this (continues on page 58) but it won't sound very good.

The E10K is a desktop DAC and can only work with computers.
The X1 does not support digital signal output, so we are afraid that it cannot be connected to any DAC devices.

So today my e10k is making a lot of noise through my LSR305's. When i move my my mouse or scroll it is picking every movement. And it is really loud.Like across the room loud. And i have the volume knob at 4.It was pretty silent yesterday, not a noise show like now.

Have you tried to connect the E10K to another computer or another headphone for testing?

Yes, i have been playing with it for the past 30 minutes. So i tried changing the usb port on my pc, same issue. Right now i have it connected to my sisters laptop and there is no noise. The only noise is just a faint one from the speakers themselves, only heard if you put your ear right next to them. But i did not have that issue yesterday or anyday with my pc,it was working like it works on the laptop.

Edit: Fixed it somehow.I unplugged everything from my power strip and plugged it again. No noise. Not sure what happended to have that noise.I should maybe get a bigger power strip, since i have a smaller one that i connect the speakers to,which then is plugged to my power strip that goes into the wall.

These vs fiio q1?

Hi, apaar123
The Q1 is a portable AMP&DAC so it has battery inside. And it doesn't have coaxial out but have line in.
You can get more information about Q1 from: http://www.fiio.net/en/products/44, E10K: http://www.fiio.net/en/products/27
