I'd be very curious to see the measurement on it, that's for sure. There aren't much measurement data out there for non top-end stats (haven't seen any detailed ones for 2170) and it'd be very interesting to see.

Yeah that's why I sent the inquiry. A lot of people say the SRS-2170 has a upper-midrange peak and I'm curious to see if it does indeed show up in the measurements.

I didn't even know Innerfidelity had its own forums, but this user was interested in the SR-207 measurement as well.

Also, there are no measurements to be found on the lambda sig what so ever... Except those Stax provide.

The SRS-2170 upper mid-range peak must be tamer than the Q701 peak.

I would guess that the Stax is less resonant in the top end.
But I'm really just guessing.......

Who cares about measurements.

I don't know what Monica Bellucci's measurements are, but she does look fine!

Those who are insecure of their own ability to evaluate their headphone correctly would be interested. Or those who would like to see an objective graph just for the sake of it... Alternatively those who try to picture a headphone before they buy/try. Dunno... Some do care about measurements for whatever reason.

I like measurements just for the sake of it. Who knows what interesting twists they might have compared to what I might think...

Huh. I always knew that my SR-303 were modded because I'm pretty sure Stax doesn't use rubber cement of all things (though, to be honest, they should considering the awesome results I've had with it), but I never knew that unmodded Lambdas kept the pad on so much differently than my modded pair.

The older models used it. So no your 303 is not unique or "modded" unless the previous owner went ahead with your pair and did all kinds of shenanigans with it.

Okay, then please explain to me why the 202 pads that came with it came with double-sided tape?

Re-read my posts.

The older/earlier serial number model's of the 202/303/404 lineup used cement rubber contact pads for the pads. In fact I bought my 202 pads from ebay last year whether it's NOS or not brand new it didn't come with the regular 3M like double sided, it came with the dark greyish black cement rubber pads.

The vintage Lambda models without the fixed number models used a different type of double sided tape which was black, very sticky (near impossible to take off) and left a huge gunk of black mess when removed.

I don't care if your 202 pads came with regular 3M double sided tape, there are a lot of variants and slight differences with the pads Stax supplies despite it being the same number.

I think we are on the same page, I'm talking about a rubbery compound double sided tape. Not the liquid rubber cement.

That might be true, but there is way too much rubber cement on my pair of Lambdas for it to just be residue from an old pad installation. It would be obvious if such a thing was the case. It's much more like someone took a big jar of rubber cement and just smeared it all over the mounting surface. There's more than enough on the mounting surface to mount and remove several different pads repeatedly before wearing out the adhesive.

My guess is that my Lambdas might have come with such a rubber cement installation, the previous owner swapped to the SR-507 pads, and just more than replaced the rubber cement of the pad mounting surface.

No schit sherlock. And just to prove my point further.

Cement rubber did ring a bell and I knew I had a pad with that stuff applied to it.

Here is a shot of one of my many vintage pads that came with that stuff, didn't have the rubber or 3M clear double sided tape. This schit was near impossible to remove from my 202's when I got em there was alot more on the metal baffle of the earspeaker itself.
