Thanks for the clarification on comfort Chris.. :)

And thanks also for the warm welcome, will report back once I'm decided on either T1 or 2170, but looks like it's biasing towards the latter..LOL

I should point out that I have no real comfort problems with the Stax 207s.
The DT880 are more comfortable, but it doesn't mean that the SR-207 are uncomfortable.

I apologize in advance if this has been covered before but can someone give me a break down between the 207 and 407?  Also I posted a thread in the help section,  I have listened to the 2170 combo and I really like the feel of the headphones and for my work I need to have them on for a long period.  My issue is with outside noise and I normally work with closed back headphones (focal pro, dt770) however I find them to be fatiguing to wear for such a long time.  The stax felt like nothing on my head.  Is there any way to have a closed back stax for sound isolation?

Stax 4070 is closed. Discontinued long time ago, though.

Oh Im fully addicted.  over 100k in gear over here.  I get to write it off though   Still $2400 is a bit much I think.  Id hate for them to reissue and I'm holding something worth $1300 on the used market.

Hi,
I need advice on pricing for STAX SRM 006-T amp with SR - 404 headphones. I think the 404 is lesser version, but both mint. Asking price is 700 euro (cca 930 $) for combo. I would be grateful for short impression if someone has experience with this setup.

If we're looking at just price-wise, it's a hell of a deal. You can't even get that amp alone at that price new.
