These (TDK BA200) sound like an interesting product to forward from Japan as well. That's a nice musical graph there, that bass looks crazy flat.

Very interesting thanks!!

I noticed e-earphone is selling them as well, for 2000 Yen less than the amazon price - http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/e-earphone/item/10005429/

Doubt these TDKs are using the usual TWFK configuration, would've been able to easily tell. That response looks similar to that of the Shure 535, EQ7, C3.

Nice FR graph. Less hot and piercing highs.

Actually this, from the graph can be quite the good IEMs. Sadly. My bank says NO!..  I'm overdrafted and in deficit..

Just like a certain few audiphile crazed european countries..

What's the Z1000 like?

Ah... you mean like connecting the headstage USB DAC cable directly from a laptop into the headphone itself, like on the TMA, Fostex T50RP or MDR-7520? That's pretty clever!!

Edit: I mean like, if you can find a small laptop that will fit in your pocket, then that sounds like a nice portable idea :)

The Z1000 is pretty sweet. I was auditioning against an ATH-ES10 and a Beyerdynamic DT1350. The Sony was the most balanced of all 3 to my ears, though it has slightly warmed up lower mids - overall a really sweet natural tone compared to the ES10 which had some amazingly delicious bass and some striking treble, but slightly thin mids. Not an amazing soundstage but really amazing levels of detail retrieval. It kind of sorta reminds me of my other new purchase, the GR07, except that it is more detailed and a bit more full sounding.

And yes that arrangement would be great. The only possible candidate computer I could think of would be the Vaio P though, and that really isn't that pocketable. Unless someone makes a tiny Android PMP with a USB port that still still works with this DAC.

They don't go into very much detail, just brief overviews, interesting they included the $230 Panasonic (Technics) Zirconia!

I wonder what that 7.1 surround sound headphone is about, seems like it's getting some attention... not sure if that's a good thing.
