If I had to guess, it's something to do with it being easier to tune an IEM that you know will fit one person perfectly versus tuning an IEM that will be an imperfect fit for everyone.

Hi all, got the KBear Dumpling earphones last week for $8 with an Amazon coupon.
To my ears they're really good, nice timbre, soundstage, just very energetic sounding.

Man, is there no bottom to that price? I didn't care for the funky tuning and metallic timbre of the Elegia, but that is a SMOKIN' price for a very good closed-back headphone that pleases a lot of people.

Adorama seems to have an endless supply of the Elegia. This price/deal has come up quite a few times, although it has been a few months since the prior time. I’m wondering if/when it will drop to $299.
