The reviews on Amazon for both the white (2.5 stars) and black (3 stars) are not as positive as the views expressed here so far. Reviews on Sonic not great as well with both sites mentioning durability as a common complaint. I have never heard or used them. Price is nice.
Yep...I read some decent reviews on Head-Fi and other sites before I pulled the trigger...but definitely a mixed bag on the reviews.
Wouldn't have tried them at what used to be their street price. TBH, the swaying factor for me (besides price) was I haven't owned a Beyer product so far that I didn't like. We'll see...for $19.99 it was worth a shot for me.

Well, good to know about the durability concerns, but Sonic is really good about that stuff. If they fail during the warranty period, they'll help you out, so it's pretty risk-free. For $19, I just want them to be better than my Piston 3.0.
I need some deal assistance. A pair of closed cans with a 1/4" jack. Reference monitor in style. For plugging into a guitar amp. $50-$100 budget. Deal thread to the rescue...

I have the version without mic and the cable is quite (edit: very) microphonic. Yes. But the sound is very yummy, I reviewed them and said when bought at a discount they are really good. At $20 they beat sound wise pretty much everything I know in that price range.

I would say the nvx xpt100. It's an amazing set of headphones, extremely comfortable, nice sound, and like the ATH-50x, the presence is not forward. The sounds are there, you can pick them out and concentrate on different subtleties rather than having everything be in your face. The below link has them for $100, but they have been on sale for close to $60.
