Compare speeds.  If all you're going to do is put music on it, just choose the cheaper one.

I was going to point you to Tom's Hardware but they don't include Sony in Benchmarks??   Don't know if something should be "read into" that or not? Do they actually make their own or rebrand?

Thanks!  Since it is for music I am not too worried about speed I am going to go with an inexpensive brand name from a reputable merchant (so I don't get something fake) and enjoy listening to twice the music I now have.

The Beyerdynamic A200p portable Amp/Dac has been at good close out prices for a while (Buydig at $140 shipped for example).  Originally about $300 new I think.
 
Beyerdynamic on Ebay is offering like new demos for $115 shipped.     The price plus a a 10% eBay bux promotion (they send you an email with the offer if you are eligible).  got me to finally pull the trigger.   I would have done it without the promo at $115.
 
Perfect match for the T51i (and harder to drive phones as well)

beyer also has a demo (used once) A2 for only $939 on eBay. New at Amazon is 1549, although it does seem to dip to $1300 often. Even with a $210 two year square trade warranty ($140 for one year), the ebay price is still pretty good. Excellent if you are adventurous. 
 
A while ago I asked BD-USA about warranty, and they said no warranty, but they will fix/replace an item if it's DOA or has an issue within the first few days.
