Cool! Sorry for the false alarm. Still an all-around awesome deal for those with a penchant for the HiFiMAN house sound. :D

Not quite all round awesome with a brand new pair available for $699 from Razordog on the 23th.

(23th is almost impossible to say...keeps morphing to 23rdth)

Picked up my 1st ortho/Hifiman from Razordog earlier this week, HE-400s, on Tyll's recommendation, I am very impressed.  I'll probably upgrade but will try to make it through the next few 23ths before doing so.

Guitar Center has the mighty mini JBL LSR-305 powered monitors on sale for $99 each (reg $150) in WHITE only deal of the day.

Anyone know how tall the opening is for my stupidly tall ears?

I can say I have large ears and comfort could be an issue. They have become increasingly more tolerable, almost as if the pads are starting to form to my ear or perhaps the head and tension has lessened. For a certain sonic preference these are amazing headphones. Seriously good.

"23th" hifiman pls

Wonder if the HE-400i and HE-560 here include the newer HE-1000 connector vs. the old SMC connector?

Oh, the irony, since I read up on these just a few days ago. Apparently, these may sound better and measure better than the Emotiva Airmotiv 4s which are also on sale, but which cost a trifle more at $239 a pair. For $99 a speaker (or $198 a pair), this might be the speaker deal of the year. Speaker folks out there, what say ye?

That he400i is a fantastic deal. I've not read any i v s comparisons but l would believe there's a warrant for the $299 vs $499 price difference.
Goodness gracious me, that HE400i could pop my planar-cherry.....

Sooo tempting but I'm out of funds (sort of)

I wonder if Sonic Electronix could beat that price, they already have a bundle of the HE400i and T70 for $550. Though it might be too greedy asking for less than $299...

I say there is no harm in asking. You just might hit the jackpot. It was my lucky day in the case of the HD 700. Search this thread for the name your price link and give it a shot.

Why would someone want both I would rather just have the he-400i for 250  :D

One open, one closed. Sometimes you want isolation.

Horn tweeters have a distinctive sound that you like or hate. If you like it, these are an awesome deal. Also, they have a certain industrial look that you have to like
