In the interest of answering the W4/W40 question, I put an old review I did of the W40 (with comparisons to the W4) at the link above. It's an old review, as I mention in the review, at the time there was the idea on Head-Fi that the W4 and $40 sounded the same (the drivers were the same), which I didn't find to be the case. Anyway, here it is, reposted (it originally ran in a print magazine, The Audiophile Voice).

Sennheiser HD-202II for $14.95 at Newegg (free shipping) with promo code EMCAVNW63.  This beats the best amazon price since October 2010 by a few cents according to camelcamelcamel.com.  Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106508

I tend to go for the W40, some improvement over the W4 in SQ (also the W4 cable is starting to fray slightly, so I baby it). Had found W4 a slightly better fit, but I think this is an individual thing, depending on the size and shape of the folds on your external ear (last night, put in the W40, actually got a good fit and seal, and this time didn't have any comfort issue).
Free dinner at my house today!!! :D
(followed by the outdoor Westifeld Jazz Festival in town!)

I'll have short hair soon again, I could shave the side of my head but then I'd have the Skrillex hair going. :/

Only downside with coiled cables is basically you can't leave your dap on the table and expect the coil to give you 7-9ft of cord. Otherwise for desktop units it's not so bad, minimum dangle.

Also keep in mind Beyer will repair in warranty and even post warranty (with fees).

Damn Man, you making me miss my hair, agh those were the days...

Where do you donate? I've been growing mine out as a last hurrah before the inevitable familial baldness sets in, when it gets long enough might as well put it to good use

Maybe I'll get myself a new pair of 1350s as a reward :p

Alex beat me, they were under $300 for a while, though I haven't seen sales listed recently.

Locks of love is one organization but you can Google cancer hair donation or call a local cancer center to see who takes it locally. You'll need a min of 10". Just make sure you do your homework as there are a lot of money into hair/wig industry and possible scams (I could get $500-$700 for my type of hair if I sold it).
