Sorry to hear that man, I came really close to buying one of those units. The price was really good, especially if they're new. Do you know if they were refurbs?

For the record, I finally got around to putting the black filters in these and the sound is night and day better.  I REALLY like these and for $40 it's a no-brainer.  These are a steal right now.  I might just get got a second pair just because.

Thanks man, you're right. I just read a review and the difference is with or without a microphone and a volume adjustment

 BTW buy an additional gray filter for $18 and I think it is be worth it.

So I bit on the $500 Beyer T1 from Amazon Warehouse earlier this week. I hadn't really been considering the T1 but for the price I figured I'd try it out and sell it if it didn't work out for not much of a loss. The headphones were delivered this morning so I took my lunch break to go pick it up from the apartment. Got home, opened the box and phone a very-much "like new" T1 box with a nice aluminum case. Opened the case only to find a slightly worn pair of DT880s inside   -__-


Spent a while chatting with Amazon customer service about the issue. There are no others in the Amazon Warehouse to send as replacements, so I guess I have to return the DT880s and miss out on the T1 deal. I guess it wasn't meant to be. But at least I'm not out my $500...

Hopefully no one else had this issue.

That's funny. I'll bet someone owned a set of 880s and wanted a set of T1s. They bought them and returned the 880s for a full refund. Amazon doesn't know any better.

I just bought a second pair, too. I've got some 132s that I love and picked up a set of 022's and set of black filters. I also prefer the black filters over the gray. At $40 everyone should own them. Ridiculously good deal.

In a nutshell, the Audeo + black filter sound like the HD650 while + gray filter sound like the HD600. It just depends on your personal references. I'm right, ain't I?
