Hey LxJLthr, hope you held off 'cause that $315 price for the HD650 is back.  Found on slickdeals.net -- http://www.adorama.com/SEHD650.html?emailprice=t

Edit: And if you don't know Adorama, they're legit and reputable as any photographer can attest.  Free 3-day shipping, too.

My bank account would like me to pass on the message that it sincerely hates you :D

Would you say they perform better than those insignia speakers everyone was gaga for about 5 or 6 years ago? (Andrew Jones pioneer speakers)

I own the 41's, the precursor to the 22's. I prefer my Polk Monitor 30's, as does my son and my wife. To each his own though.

That said, I much prefer my DefTech SM350s and MartinLogan LX16s! :)

Never tried the Insignia's small curved side wall 2 way .. was it just cap on tweeter?

The Pioneer BS-22LR IMO is the best value book shelf from A.Jones Pioneer partnership. Happens maybe twice annual and they go quick. So I just snapped up a warehouse set since I didn't open my email to see the camel camel camel heads up...and missed by a whisker. A'zon lists them Left Right =LR designation and like new. I suppose people snap them up at 60 expect more ... who knows. The little 4" just love older recievers and integrateds producing a quick toe tapping musicality. Decent nearfield.

Even the previous BS-21LR's w/slightly less dynamic 4" driver, cheaper x-over, shallower wave guide is a good deal. A chance to restock spares. I've handed off BS-21 and BS-41 with it's bigger bouncier 5.5" woofer to nephews. I just want a couple spare pairs around as it will likely find a sweet spot in small speaker history.

Don't have one yet, about to order Schiit stack. This is going to be my first open-back high end headphone (coming from SE535 and M50)

I'd recommend the Vali over the Magni since both the K and the HD will benefit from the tube sound.

I have both the Q701 and the HD650.  I think you'll find that they're almost apples and oranges.  Complementary sounds.
